Community conversation is key for communities to take take ownership and being responsible. This is local response. When we seek to stimulate local response with community conversation, one of the stimulating question is are we human and why? Members of every community are intrigue by the question and their own response. They agree to continue 'community conversations' on that human level. “I did not know what to expect…….I have not been with this group of women since last year. I like SALT even though I was not trained as a Facilitator. When the team of Facilitators indicated that the women of Lallmattie offered a good opportunity for doing SALT, I willingly agreed. Today’s experience helped me to appreciate SALT, more and I know I made the right decision. My hope is that we can continue doing SALT with the ladies of Lallmattie” Annabelle, the Facilitator of Etoile…

"When you come back....." more a statement than a question was the remark of Nadia to the After Experience Reflection question with Persons on Methadone Therapy. You would gather that they had agree that we come back for more SALT action. (^_^). So when the question was finally asked "do we come again?" there was a resounding yes. Her statement was related to the thought of what other exercises will we do the next time. She continued.."What I like is the "pulling of the paper" that made a…

While engaging over 150 youths, instead of doing "hopes n Concern" which would have been too tedious for the volume of people. We did four drawings: [1] a smiling sun, [2] clouds with rain, [3] a mixture of rain and sun, and [4] a large circle. We placed each drawing strategically so there was enough space for the youth to congregate and asked the youths to consider their inner feelings about the institution where they were and if that feeling related to any of the drawing, go there. One of…

Wednesday July 17, 2013 will remain indelibly with Autry. We initially planned to meet at 6.30 pm Belgian time. At just about 5.45, I intuitively decided to check my email and saw the email Autry, "We are coming, Liza will be there in a few with an Espa, so if you come outside, she will meet you." Well, if you know me well, I am not usually an anxious person but anxiety got the better of me here. The good thing I had just had a bath in preparation for 6.30 but I am usually always ready and…
