Community Life Competence Process works!

"I must say, at first when I was being introduced to this Process, I was apprehensive. I see potential and I kept saying yes it will work, but at the back of my mind, I was thinking somethingelse. Now that I have been with you, these past seven days in the communities, I am appalled at what I see happening, THIS PROCESS WORKS! In fact I am happy that I made the effort to be with you." Heidy.

This dream as related to WASH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene) is to improve sanitation, waste management, water, electricity, erect a bridge and have transportation for children to / from school

The Self Assessment Framework as developed for elements they have to start working on to achieve their dream are:

1. Sanitation

2. Waste Management

3. Hygiene

4. Improved water system

5. Learning and transfer

6. Constant / Reliable electricity

7. Transportation for school

The picture above indicate the level of competence for each element.

i like the quote, it shows that like all of us " we are human" . I too remembered being apprehensive about the process. Because we have been brought up in an environment where we have been exposed over and over again to new processes. We are therefore taught to be apprehensive when approaching new things, its just our human and natural response. I am happy the more persons are learning the process and will pass on the process as well. Keep the SALT salinating the world.

Hi Autry,

Well begun is half done!

The enthusiasm of the Community, and its 'thirst' for SALT will be two among many of the factors that determine the progress in the Self Assessment Framework. However, enthusiasm for CLCP and aptitude to practice SALT are what we can control, or what is in our control. So, this community will go a long way and at good speed too.

With best wishes,

Wanhatti is the name of this village that has shown remarkable response to suppport / interventions before. This time however, enthusiasm was high with the SALTy way the Process was introduced, as such they were stimulated to act immediately since they see the benefit. While sharing has been a continuous way of acting even before meeting to Action Plans (which they are now doing) they see the need for using local strengths and decided that they can implement in a small way introduction of garbage containers, especially at public places where villagers will notice and be motivated to do the same.

CLCP works and that too in every life concern! Beautifully shared Autry. Thanks for sharing the self assessment. They are at level  4 in Learn and Transfer, may I request you to share an example why they said so?
