Two weeks ago, I joined some enthusiastic community volunteers from Flacq on a visit to Etoile d’Esperance. This is an organization in Mauritius, working to help women with alcohol addiction and other related problems to take treatment and transition to a new life. It offers a residential programme for fifteen women apart from day care and after care.

I want to share a small introduction to the art of asking questions inspired by Appreciation.
I think all appreciative questions always refer back to the purpose of what we are doing. So in the words used in the introduction, I believe you should always start with a generative question and ask for real human experiences.

Our Speed Dating Forum occurs annually. No romance involved! It creates opportunity for community professionals, community groups, individuals and businesses to meet and share what it is they do and what their concerns are.
This year the discussion will be on homelessness. Australia is perceived as a wealthy country and it is but as with many wealthy countries the wealth seems to congregate in certain corners and leave many families with few resources.
In the outskirts of a…

One of our key messages is creating safe communities for children. We have a Safe T Net project which includes a website development with children where they can consider what being unsafe feels like, who do I talk to and who do I call?
In a country so focussed on material goods we have high levels of social isolation which is not safe for anyone, particularly…

ContinueAdded by joseph koïvogui on September 29, 2014 at 12:00am — 3 Comments

Life has been described in many ways: A roller coaster, two edged sword, a teacher, a school ...name them, but really: LIFE IS THE PROCESS OF CONTINUOUS BECOMING...
You are not today where you were yesterday. By the time I finish writing this, I will be older than the time I began writing. SO WILL YOU BE BY THE TIME YOU ARE DONE READING.... You are continuously becoming something: Good or Bad. Nothing stagnates, even dead rocks get weathered, as other life forms evolve to…

Every morning one lady bike rider passes me when my bus gets stuck in the jam on the way to my office. She goes ahead to her destination by driving her Scooty easily and naturally on the wide and narrow spaces on the road as like as a man. Every day when I see her I give her a salute and admire her courage because it is Bangladesh, a moderate Islamic country by the constitution, where a big part of the people do not support from their mind to let the women go out from home for working…
