From Dream to Reality :Students Lead Change at Joynagar High School.

গত ১৫ই ফেব্রুয়ারি জয়নগর হাই স্কুলে ড্রিম বিল্ডিং সেশনে শিক্ষার্থীরা গ্রুপ সল্ট এর মাধ্যমে মূল কার্যক্রমে অংশগ্রহণ করেছিল। এবং দুটি দলে বিভক্ত হয়ে তারা তাদের বিদ্যালয় কে নিয়ে স্বপ্ন দেখেছিল। তাদের দল দুটির নাম দিয়েছিল পদ্মা দল এবং যমুনা দল। শিক্ষকদের ড্রিমসহ মোট তিনটা ড্রিম থেকে একটি ড্রিম তারা তৈরি করে। এতে বিভিন্ন শিক্ষক শিক্ষার্থীদের সহযোগিতা করেছিল। শিক্ষক এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বপ্নগুলো ছিল অনেকাংশেই সাদৃশ্যপূর্ণ তবে কিছু কিছু ব্যতিক্রম স্বপ্ন শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্য থেকে উঠে আসছিল। যার মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য ছিল দূরবর্তী শিক্ষার্থীদের আবাসন ব্যবস্থা। শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের স্বপ্ন শিক্ষকদের সামনে উপস্থাপন করেছিল পক্ষান্তরে শিক্ষকরা ও তাদের স্বপ্ন শিক্ষার্থীদের সামনে উপস্থাপন করেছিল এতে করে উভয় পক্ষের মধ্যে স্বপ্ন শেয়ারিং কার্যক্রমটি খুব সুষ্ঠুভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়েছিল। তারপর পরবর্তীতে গিয়ে শিক্ষক এবং শিক্ষার্থীরা মিলে সেল্ফ অ্যাসেসমেন্টে অংশগ্রহণ করেছিল। পরে তারা সকলে মিলে একশন প্ল্যানও করেছিল। AER:সেশনএর যে দিকটি ভালো ছিল শিক্ষক এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের ড্রিম শেয়ারিং কেননা এতে করে তাদের স্বপ্নপূরণ করতে অনেকটা সহায়ক হবে বলে আমার মনে হয়েছে। এছাড়াও ষষ্ঠ শ্রেণীর কিছু শিক্ষার্থীদের নতুন অংশগ্রহণ সল্ট শিক্ষাকেও প্রভাবিত করেছে। এর আগে যদিও অনেকের সাথে আমাদের সল্ট এবং গ্রুপ সল্ট হয়েছে তবে বেশ কিছু স্টুডেন্ট ছিল যারা সল্ট সম্পর্কে অবগত ছিল না তাই তারাও সল্ট সম্পর্কে জানতে পেরেছেন। অন্যদিকে আরো যে জায়গাতে ভালো করা যেত সেটা হল কিছু শিক্ষক ছিল যারা ড্রিম বিল্ডিং সেশনে অংশগ্রহণ করেনি তাই তাদের কাছে বিষয়টি অন্যরকম লেগেছে। তবে পরবর্তীতে এ সমস্যাটি ও সমাধান করে পরবর্তী ধাপগুলোতে এগোতে পারবো।
আজ আমি জানাবো স্বপ্ন দেখার পর আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীরা কি কি পদক্ষেপ শুরু করেছে। তারা প্রথমে শ্রেণীকক্ষ এবং স্কুল প্রাঙ্গন কিভাবে পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখা যায় সেটা নিয়ে ভেবেছে। কারন তাদের ক্লাসে ময়লা ফেলার নির্দিষ্ট স্থান থাকার পরও সেটা কেউ মেনে চলে না ফলে স্কুল প্রাঙ্গন ময়লা হয়। ইতিমধ্যে তারা দল গঠন করে পোস্টারিং করে নির্ধারিত স্থানে অর্থাৎ ময়লার ঝুড়িতে ময়লা ফেলার ব্যাপারে সচেতনতা তৈরি করতে সকল শিক্ষার্থীদের সাথে দলগতভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্নতার পাশাপাশি তারা ওয়াশরুম ব্যবহার বিধি নিয়েও চিন্তা করা শুরু করেছে যেহেতু এটিও পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্নতার মধ্যেই পড়ে। প্রথমে তারা দলগতভাবে আলোচনা করে সিদ্ধান্তে উপনীত হয়েছে যে তাদের বিদ্যালয়ে পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণে ওয়াশরুম ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে তবে একটা বিষয় তারা লক্ষ্য করেছে যে এটির যথাযথ ব্যবহার হচ্ছে না যার কারণে অনেকে ভোগান্তির শিকার। উদাহরণস্বরূপ তারা উল্লেখ করেছে যে অনেক সময় ওয়াশরুম নোংরা থাকার কারণে অনেকে সেটা ব্যবহার করেনা এতে অনেকে বিভিন্ন ধরনের জটিল সমস্যায় ও আক্রান্ত হচ্ছে তার মধ্যে একটি ছিল ইউরিন ইনফেকশন। কারন যাতে ওয়াশরুমে যাওয়া না লাগে এই কারণে অনেকে পানি খায় না বিশেষ করে মেয়েরা। পিরিয়ডের চলাকালীন অনেকে স্কুলেই আসে না ওয়াশরুম নোংরা থাকার কারণে। এছাড়া আরো স্বাস্থ্যঝুঁকি রয়েছে। এই সকল দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে তারা একই সাথে ওয়াশরুম ব্যবহার বিধিতে সচেতনতা বাড়ানোর লক্ষ্যেও কাজ করেছে। এটি দেখে অন্য শিক্ষার্থীরাও নিজ থেকে সচেতনতা বোধে এগিয়ে আসছে। এবং শিক্ষার্থীরা এখন অনুধাবন করতে শুরু করেছে যে ওয়াশরুম ব্যবস্থা যতই বেশি থাকুক না কেন সেটির যদি যথাযথ ব্যবহার নিশ্চিত করতে না পারে তবে সেটি কোন কাজে আসবে না। তাই তাদের কাছে এখন একটি চ্যালেঞ্জ ধরা দিয়েছে সেটি হল সবাইকে সচেতন হতে উদ্বুদ্ধ করা। একই সাথে তারা নিজ উদ্যোগে বাড়ি এবং বাজার থেকে ফুলের গাছ সংগ্রহ করে বাগান তৈরির কাজের সূচনাও করে ফেলেছে। তাদের এ সকল কাজের দ্বারা আমার উপলব্ধি হয়েছে যে তারুণ্যের জোরালো শক্তি দ্বারা সকল অসম্ভব সম্ভব করা সম্ভব।

• On February 15th, at Joynagar High School, students participated in a Dream Building session through group salt activities. Dividing into two teams, they dreamed about their school’s future. The two teams named themselves Padma Team and Jamuna Team. From a total of three dreams—one from the teachers' and two from the students' perspectives—they created a single unified dream. Various teachers helped the students in this process. The dreams of teachers and students were mostly similar, though there were some unique dreams presented by the students. A notable example was the housing arrangement for distant students. The students presented their dreams to the teachers, and in return, the teachers presented their dreams to the students. This mutual sharing of dreams was carried out very smoothly. Later, both teachers and students participated in a self-assessment activity and collaboratively developed an action plan.
  AER: One of the most positive aspects of the session was the Dream Sharing between teachers and students because I believe this will significantly help in realizing their dreams. Additionally, some new sixth-grade students, who were unfamiliar with salt education, were influenced by it. Although many students had previously participated in salt and group salt activities, some students were unaware of what salt was, and they got the opportunity to learn about it. On the other hand, one area that could have been improved was that some teachers did not participate in the Dream Building session, so the topic felt different to them. However, I believe this issue can be resolved in future steps.
  Now, I will share the steps our students have begun taking after envisioning their dreams. They initially thought about how to keep the classrooms and school grounds clean. Despite having designated areas for trash disposal, students often do not follow this rule, which results in a dirty school environment. They have already formed teams and started creating posters to raise awareness about disposing of waste in the designated bins. Along with cleanliness, they also started thinking about the proper usage of restrooms, as this too falls under the category of cleanliness. Initially, they discussed as a team and concluded that the school has an adequate number of restrooms. However, they observed that they were not being properly utilized, which caused inconvenience for many. For example, they pointed out that when restrooms are dirty, many students avoid using them, which leads to various health problems, such as urinary infections. To avoid using the restroom, some students refrain from drinking water, especially girls. During menstruation, many girls avoid coming to school due to the poor cleanliness of the restrooms. This situation poses additional health risks. From these perspectives, they began working on raising awareness about proper restroom usage. Seeing their efforts, other students also started taking the initiative to promote awareness.
  Students now realize that no matter how many restrooms are available, if they are not used properly, they will be ineffective. Therefore, the new challenge they are facing is to encourage everyone to be more aware. At the same time, they have started collecting flower plants from their homes and local markets to create a garden. From all these actions, I have realized that with the powerful energy of youth, even the impossible can become possible.
