Community is... coming together for mutual support of love and life

Dear friends,

This weekend I participated in an acroyoga workshop on the theme 'Building our community'. Besides hanging upside down and doing crazy things together, we reflected on the meaning of community.

I wanted to share this with you because the definitions people gave touched me.

"Community is...

... people that you share a space and time with in acceptance and support.

... all the layers coming together for mutual support.

... a collection of individual minds and souls that are united by common beliefs and values, who give each other respect, love and a sense of belonging.

... coming together for mutual support of love and life.

... the support that arises from the acceptance of connected souls.

... the connectedness of like minds and hearts drawn together by the source within us all.

... the soil and nutriment of the practice.

... a living synergistic collective that lovingly supports and inspires.

... a gathering of people lovingly supporting each other, giving laughter, strength and inspiration, working towards a common goal.

... a shared home -no need for small talk- it is flowing with giving, receiving and trust.

... connection, care and commitment."

I am blessed with a amazing community of friends here in Chiang Mai. They are like family to me. We are a community because...
We share the same interests (mindfulness through yoga, meditation, etc.),
we speak the same language (language of the heart)
we care for each other and we help each other to blossom into our highest potential.

What is community for you?

Laurence

Thanks. Beautiful words, Laurence. Beautiful picture, Azriel.
You are firmly with your feet on the ground on this picture, Laurence :).

To me, a community is all of the above. Plus the acceptance of diversity and differences. In communities there is a lot we have in common. But in our Constellation community can we also celebrate the diversity of people connected. No matter your color, your country, your language, your gender, your interests, your experience, your status, your title, your age, your spiritual beliefs... Thanks to these differences we have an incentive to learn from each other. So may the members of the Constellation community always be diverse, respectful of differences and eager to learn from them.
