When Communities Learn and Lead :Reflections from Byaspur's Knowledge Fair.

ব্যাসপুর কমিউনিটিতে হয়ে যাওয়া জ্ঞানের মেলা নবান্ন পর্বের পরবর্তী রিফ্লেকশন ফলোআপে প্রতিটি অংশগ্রহণকারী দলের কাছে গিয়ে তাদের জ্ঞানের মেলার শিক্ষা সম্পর্কে জানতে চাই।এতে করে বিভিন্ন জন তাদের জ্ঞানের মেলা থেকে অর্জিত জ্ঞান সম্পর্কে শেয়ার করে।পাশাপাশি তারা কি অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জন করেছে তা ও শেয়ার করে।

হিজলিপাড়াঃ
হিজলিপাড়ার দাদা,দাদী,মা ও বাবারা আগামীতে নিজেদের পাড়াতে জ্ঞানের মেলার আয়োজন করার শিক্ষা নিয়েছেন।বিশেষ করে দাদি সুফিয়া কাকি নিজে হিজলিপাড়ার সকলকে একত্রিত হয়ে তাদের পাড়াতে জ্ঞানের মেলার আয়োজন করবে। উত্তরপাড়ার আবিদ ভাই,শহিদুল ভাই ও হাফিজুর ভাইয়ের অক্লান্ত প্রচেষ্টা ও উৎসাহ তাদেরকে বেশি অনুপ্রেরণা যুগিয়েছে।পরবর্তী জ্ঞানের মেলার আয়োজক তারাই হবে সেটার তীব্র ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেছে। আসমা আপা, আছিয়া আপা, স্বম্পা আপা,নিপা আপা, যুথি, ও মিনা আপা, ভাইদের মধ্যে উজ্জ্বল, ইমরান, টুটুল, জাফর কাকা সুফিয়া কাকির সাথে সহমত পোষণ করেছে। আগামীতে জ্ঞানের মেলা তাদের পাড়াতেই অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।

দক্ষিণপাড়াঃ
দক্ষিণপাড়ার অভিযাত্রী দলের সদস্যদের মধ্যে খেলার প্রতি আগ্রহ বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে।তা ছাড়াও তারা তাদের দলের স্ব মুল্যায়ন করে দ্রুত স্নপ্ন থেকে কতটা দূরে আছে তা সবাই মিলে জানবে।সবজি নিয়ে কাজ করা আপারা আরও বেশি অনুপ্রেরণা পেয়েছে আগামীতে তারা তাদের আরও পরিবর্তনের গল্প শোনাবে।সবজি বাগানের গল্প গ্রামে ছড়িয়ে দিবে।জ্ঞানের মেলায় সবার পরিবর্তনের গল্প তাদের বেশ উৎসাহী করেছে। সবজির পাশাপাশি আরও কি করা যায় সেটা তাদেরকে ভাবিয়ে তুলেছে।
অভিযাত্রী দলের তানজিলা বলেছে তারা যে আগে খেলার সুযোগ পেতো না কিন্তু এখন তার দল মাঠে গিয়ে খেলছে সেই গল্প বলতে পেরে অনেক ভালো লেগেছে তার। সামনে জ্ঞানের মেলা আসা পর্যন্ত তারা দক্ষিনয়াড়ার অন্য মেয়েদেরকেও বাইরে খেলার সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করতে চায়।
মেয়ে এথলেট বা ফুটবলাররাও কিভাবে তাদের চ্যালেন্জ্ঞ গুলো কাটিয়ে উঠবে তা নিয়ে মায়েদের সাথে আলোচনা করার সুযোগ পেয়েছে।

হাফিজুর ভাই: ব্যাসপুর উত্তরপাড়া:
ভাই জ্ঞানের মেলা থেকে শিখেছেন একটা কথা একজনের থেকে অন্য জনের কাছে গেলে তা পরিবর্তন হয়ে যায়।মানুষ বিবর্তীত কথাকে ইস্যু করে সমাজের শান্তি বিনষ্ট করে।যার বাস্তবিকতা ভাই জ্ঞানের মেলা থেকেই অনুধাবন করেছেন।এছাড়াও কমিউনিটিতে জ্ঞানের মেলা পাশ্ববর্তী অন্যমানুষকে অনুপ্রানীত করে। জ্ঞানের মেলা থেকে অনেকে তাদের কাজ সম্পর্কে জানার জন্য এসেছে।কমিউনিটি থেকে কমিউনিটির মানুষ জানা এটা তাদেরকে খুব সহজেই উৎসাহিত করে।

শাহানারা আপা: ব্যাসপুর উত্তরপাড়া:
শাহানারা আপা শিখেছেন দশের লাঠি একের বোঝা প্রবাদ বাক্যের বাস্তবিকতা। তার দলের সকলে মিলে ২০০ মানুষের জন্য পিঠাপুলি তৈরির বিষয়টি অনেক আনন্দ দিয়েছে। এবং দলের সকলের আন্তরিকতা তার শেখাকে আরও বেশি অনুপ্রানিত করেছে। শাহানারা আপারা জ্ঞানের মেলাতে এতো আনন্দ পেয়েছেন যে মেলার পরদিন আবার পাড়ার সবাই মিলে পিকনিক করেছেন। সবাই মিলেমিশে থাকা যে অনেক বেশি আনন্দের এটা তারা খুব ভালোভাবে বুঝেছেন বলে জানান।

উত্তরপাড়াঃ
উত্তরপাড়াতে ছোয়ার দাদু গল্পের আসর শুরু করার চিন্তা শুরু করে দিয়েছে। হিজলিপাড়ার দাদা দাদীদের গল্পের আসর তাকে অনুপ্রাণিত করেছে।ছোয়ার টিম ও শাহানারা আপার টিমের সমন্বয়ে শাহানারা কাকি প্রতিমাসে ১ দিন ১ম শনিবার গল্পের আসর করার জন্য ২ টিমের সদস্যদের সাথে আলোচনা করেছেন ইতিমধ্যেই।

SALT-CLCP এর শেষ ধাপ শিখি এবং শেখাই অর্থাৎ জ্ঞানের মেলা, কমিউনিটির মানুষকে অনেক বেশি motivated করে। যা আমি জ্ঞানের মেলা পরবর্তী সাক্ষাৎকারে অনুধাবন করতে পেরেছি।

During the post-reflection follow-up after the Knowledge Fair – Nobanno Porbo held in the Byaspur community, I visited each participating team to learn about the lessons they gained from the Knowledge Fair. Through this process, different community members shared the knowledge they acquired from the fair, as well as the experiences they went through.
Hijlipara
The grandfathers, grandmothers, mothers, and fathers of Hijlipara learned how they can organize a Knowledge Fair in their own neighborhood in the future. In particular, grandmother Sufia Kaki expressed her strong commitment to bringing everyone in Hijlipara together to organize a Knowledge Fair there.
The tireless efforts and encouragement of Abid Bhai, Shahidul Bhai, and Hafizur Bhai from Uttar Para inspired them greatly. They clearly expressed a strong desire to be the organizers of the next Knowledge Fair. Asma Apa, Asia Apa, Swampa Apa, Nipa Apa, Juthi, and Mina Apa, along with Ujjal, Imran, Tutul, and Jafar Kaka, all agreed with Sufia Kaki. It was collectively decided that the next Knowledge Fair would be held in Hijlipara.
Dokkhi Para
Among the members of the Dokkhin Para Adventurer Team, interest in sports has increased. In addition, they plan to conduct a collective self-assessment to understand how far they are from achieving their dreams.
The women working on vegetable initiatives felt even more inspired and shared that they will tell more stories of change in the future and spread the stories of their vegetable gardens throughout the village. The change stories shared by others at the Knowledge Fair motivated them greatly. Along with vegetables, they are now thinking about what more they can do.

Tanjila from the South Para Adventurer Team shared that they did not have opportunities to play sports before, but now her team regularly goes to the field to play. She felt very happy sharing this story at the Knowledge Fair. Until the next Knowledge Fair, they want to create opportunities for other girls in South Para to play outdoors as well. Girl athletes and football players also had the opportunity to discuss with their mothers how to overcome their challenges.
Hafizur Bhai | Byaspur Uttar Para
From the Knowledge Fair, Hafizur Bhai learned an important lesson—that when information passes from one person to another, it often changes. People turn distorted information into issues, which can disrupt social harmony. He realized this reality directly through the Knowledge Fair.
He also observed that the Knowledge Fair inspires people from neighboring communities. Many people came to learn about different initiatives after the fair. Learning from one community to another motivates people very easily.
Shahanara Apa | Byaspur Uttar Para
Shahanara Apa learned the true meaning of the proverb “Many hands make light work.” Preparing pitha for 200 people together with her team brought her great joy, and the sincerity of all team members further strengthened her learning.
She shared that they enjoyed the Knowledge Fair so much that the very next day everyone from the neighborhood went on a picnic together. They realized deeply that living and celebrating together brings immense happiness.
Uttara Para
In Uttar Para, Choya’s grandmother has started thinking about initiating a storytelling circle. She was inspired by the storytelling sessions of the grandparents from Hijlipara.
With coordination between Choya’s team and Shahanara Apa’s team, Shahanara Kaki has already discussed with members of both teams the plan to organize a storytelling session on the first Saturday of every month.
The final step of the SALT CLCP—“Learn and transfer,” represented through the Knowledge Fair—greatly motivates community members. I clearly realized this through the post–Knowledge Fair interviews.

ঋতু ফ্যাসিলিটেশন একটা অনেক বড় ধৈর্যের বিষয়। আমার আড়াই বছরের অভিজ্ঞতার আলোকে আমি এটা বুঝতে পেরেছি।উত্তর পাড়াতে আমাদের আরো একটি গল্পের আসর শুরু হওয়ার কথা ছিল প্রথম জ্ঞানের মেলা থেকে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে। কিন্তু সেটা শুরু হয়েছে দ্বিতীয় জ্ঞানের মেলার পরে। গত এক বছর ধৈর্যের সাথে ছোয়ার দাদুকে আমি ফ্যাসিলিটেশন করেছি। কখনো হাল ছেড়ে দেই নি। এরকম শুধু উত্তর পাড়ার দাদু না আরো অনেক বিষয়েই আছে। আমি শিখেছি যত ধৈর্য সহকারে ফ্যাসিলিটেশন করব টিম তত ভালো করে অ্যাকশন গ্রহণ করবে এবং তারা সেটা চলমান রাখবে। তাই আমি এমন ভাবে ফেসিলিটেশন করতে চাই যাতে এক টিম আরেক টিমের সাথে নিয়মিত যোগাযোগের মাধ্যমে, একজন আরেকজনের থেকে অনুপ্রাণিত হতে পারে। এবং তারাই নিজেরা নিজেরা ছোট ছোট জ্ঞানের মেলার আয়োজন করতে পারে। এমনকি বছর শেষে সবাই মিলে একটা বড় জ্ঞানের মেলা আয়োজন করতে পারে। আমি চাইবো যেখানে এইবার জ্ঞানের মেলায় আমি যতটা সম্পৃক্ত ছিলাম তার থেকে আরও কম কিভাবে সম্পৃক্ত থেকে কমিউনিটির মানুষই যাতে অনেক বেশি সম্পৃক্ত থাকতে পারে এবং সুন্দরভাবে জ্ঞানের মেলার আয়োজন করতে পারে সেই ফ্যাসিলিটেশন করার।

Rituu facilitation  is a matter of great patience. Based on my two and a half years of experience, I have come to understand this clearly. Inspired by the first Knowledge Fair, another grandmother planned to start another grandparent’s storytelling session in Uttarpara, but it actually began after the second Knowledge Fair. Over the past year, I have patiently facilitated Chhoya’s Dadu and never gave up. This is not only true for this grandmother from Uttar Para; it applies to many other situations as well.
I have learned that the more patiently I facilitate, the better the team takes action and the more consistently they continue it. Therefore, I want to facilitate in such a way that teams stay in regular contact with one another, inspire each other, and eventually organize small knowledge fairs on their own. They can even come together at the end of the year to organize a large knowledge fair.
I want to reduce my level of involvement compared to how engaged I was in this year’s Knowledge Fair, and instead facilitate in a way that enables community members themselves to be much more involved and successfully organize the Knowledge Fair on their own.
