As we all know sweets are prohibitive for diabetic patients. In Rajasthan, India community takes ownership under health rise project and used SALT methodology to engaging patients of diabetes, make patient support group and start to discussion how they minimise health risk or not depend completely on pills, Should start health checkups in regular intervals, support similar patients in a group to change their physical and foodie habits, in a group they start group exercises.
Community are happy as they learn SALT from each other. There is a change in behaviour.
Here is an example- In phase one of our project we had used CLCP only in 5 villages as a pilot. Now in the second phase we are using SALT in other villages. In one SALT visit, a female patient from village Neemach Kheda, Girwa Block, Udaipur district, India after the project stopped going for health check ups. Now after SALT process, she has become responsible for her health. She goes for regular check ups without us reminding her. she calls us when she returns from the check up. She does not have a phone but sends us photo of medical prescription on whatsapp through someone else's phone after visiting the doctor. SALT facilitator is Bheru Lal Mali. SALT facilitator is Bheru Lal Mali.
This is why I say SALT process is like a sweet for the Diabetic patients.

Commendable job by our Outreach Workers. Way to go.........
Shobhit, thanks. I am happy to hear of this progress. Is it the same lady who came to our SALT meeting (when I visited) and said that she is not able to regularly follow her treatment regime?
