আমি একজন সল্ট ফ্যাসিলিটেটর হিসেবে গত ১ বছর ৯ মাস ধরে ব্যাসপুর কমিউনিটিতে কাজ করছি। কমিউনিটির মানুষের মুখে শোনা তাদের বাস্তব সমস্যাগুলো আমি মনোযোগ দিয়ে শুনি, তাদের উৎসাহ দেই যেন তারা নিজেরাই সেই সমস্যার সমাধান খুঁজে নিতে পারে।
ব্যাসপুরের একটি বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ ছিল—কমিউনিটির মানুষের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি। তারা ছেলে ও মেয়েকে ভিন্ন দৃষ্টিতে দেখে, বৈষম্য করে। কিন্তু সল্ট প্রক্রিয়ার মাধ্যমে কমিউনিটির কিছু মানুষের মধ্যে ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তন এসেছে। এখন তারা আর ছেলে-মেয়েকে আলাদা চোখে দেখে না; বরং সহমর্মিতা, সম্মান ও সমান সুযোগ দেওয়ার বিষয়ে আরও সচেতন হয়েছে। আজ ব্যাসপুর কমিউনিটিতে সেই পরিবর্তনের একটি সুন্দর প্রতিফলন দেখা গেল।
প্রকাশ ভাইয়ের কাটাখালিপাড়ার ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি পদ্ম টিম এবং ব্যাসপুর থেকে খুঁজে খুঁজে বের করা মেয়েদের ফুটবল টিম— দক্ষিনপাড়ার মেয়েদের অভিযাত্রী টিম—এর মধ্যে এক প্রীতি ম্যাচ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। মেয়েদের ফুটবল দলে অভিযাত্রী টিমের চারজন মেয়ে সদস্য অংশ নেয়, যারা স্বপ্ন দেখে একদিন জাতীয় পর্যায়ের খেলোয়াড় হওয়ার। খেলার মাধ্যমে আজ কমিউনিটি-টু-কমিউনিটি কানেকশন তৈরি করতে পেরে আমি ভীষণ আনন্দিত। কারণ এই অভিজ্ঞতা মেয়েদের আরও আত্মবিশ্বাস দেবে, তাদের স্বপ্নকে বাস্তবের কাছাকাছি নিয়ে যাবে। আর এটাই সল্টের শক্তি—একজনের কাছ থেকে অন্যজনের শেখা।
বিশেষ করে পদ্ম টিমের ছেলেদের সঙ্গে অভিযাত্রী টিমের মেয়েদের পরিচয় হওয়াটাও খুব ইতিবাচক একটি দিক। মেয়েরা আজ বুঝেছে, তারা ছেলেদের সঙ্গে একই মাঠে, একই খেলায় অংশ নিতে পারে—এবং এখানে তারা নিরাপদ। বাবা-মায়েরা যেই নিরাপত্তাহীনতার কারণে মেয়েদের মাঠে খেলতে দিতেন না, সেই ভয়ও ধীরে ধীরে দূর হচ্ছে। আগে দক্ষিনপাড়ার অভিযাত্রী টিমের মেয়েরা বাড়ির উঠানেও খেলতে পারত না। কারন বাবা মায়ের নিষেধ ছিলো। সল্টের পরে তারা উঠানে খেলার অনুমতি পায়, তারপর আস্তে আস্তে পাশের বাড়িতে, তারপর পাড়ার ছেলে-মেয়েদের সঙ্গে খেলতে শুরু করেছে—আর আজ, জার্সি পরে বড় মাঠে একটি আনুষ্ঠানিক ম্যাচ খেলেছে ছেলে দলের প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী হিসেবে। অনেক দর্শক আবার সেই খেলা দেখেছেও। পাশাপাশি পদ্ম টিমের ছেলেদের মধ্যে দেখেছি তারা মেয়েদের মেয়ে হিসেবে নয় বরং মানুষ হিদেবে সমান মর্যাদা দিয়েই খেলেছে।
আমি অনেক কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাই  ৫নং জয়নগর প্রাথমিক স্কুলের তপন স্যারকে। খেলায় একজন রেফারির দরকার ছিল। স্যারকে যখন বললাম, সাথে সাথে তিনি রাজি হয়ে গেলেন। জয়নগর হাই স্কুলে গিয়ে প্রকাশ ভাই বল এবং বাশি চাওয়া মাত্র দিয়ে দিয়েছে। তাদের প্রতিও আমরা কৃতজ্ঞ।
কমিউনিটির এ রকম ধীর কিন্তু চোখে দেখা যায় এমন পরিবর্তন আমার কাজের প্রতি আরও গভীর অনুপ্রেরণা যোগায়। আমার কমিউনিটির পরিবর্তনের গল্প আপনাদেরও ভালো লাগবে ভেবেই শেয়ার করলাম। আজকের ছুটির বিকেলটা হাসি, আনন্দ ও শক্তিতে ভরে উঠেছে।

As a SALT facilitator, I have been working in the Byaspur community for the past 1 year and 9 months. I listen attentively to the real challenges community members share, and I encourage them to find their own solutions.
One of the major challenges in Byaspur was the community’s mindset. They viewed boys and girls differently and practiced discrimination. But through the SALT process, positive changes have started to emerge among many community members. They no longer see boys and girls through separate lenses; instead, they have become more aware of empathy, respect, and ensuring equal opportunities. Today, we witnessed a beautiful reflection of that change in the Byaspur community.
A friendly football match was held between Prokash Bhai’s masculinity-focused Padma Team from Katakhalipara and the girls’ football team from Byaspur—the Explorer Team from Dakkinpara, formed by identifying passionate young girls from the community. Four girls from the Explorer Team took part in the match, all of whom dream of becoming national-level players one day. I felt truly delighted to create this community-to-community connection through today’s match. This experience will undoubtedly strengthen the girls’ confidence and bring their dreams even closer to reality. And this is the power of SALT—learning from one another.
It was especially encouraging to see the boys of the Padma Team and the girls of the Explorer Team getting to know each other. The girls realized today that they can play in the same field and in the same game alongside boys—and that they are safe here. The fear and insecurity that once prevented parents from allowing their daughters to play outside is slowly fading. Earlier, the girls of the Explorer Team weren’t even allowed to play in their own yards because their parents restricted them. After conducting SALT with their parents, they first received permission to play in the yard, then gradually in the neighbor’s yard, then with boys and girls in the neighborhood—and today, wearing jerseys, they played an official match in the big field as opponents of the boys’ team. Many spectators came to watch the match as well.
I also noticed something very meaningful among the boys of the Padma Team—they treated the girls not as “girls,” but as human beings with equal dignity and respect.
I am deeply grateful to Tapon  Sir from  Joynagar Government Primary School. We needed a referee for the match, and the moment I approached him, he agreed without hesitation. We are also grateful to Jaynagar High School—when Prokash Bhai requested a ball and a whistle, they provided them immediately.
Seeing this kind of gradual yet visible transformation in the community continues to inspire me deeply in my work. I wanted to share this story because I thought you might appreciate it too. Today’s holiday afternoon was filled with joy, laughter, and energy.

মনিরা আপা আপনি প্রকাশ ভাইয়ের ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি টিমকে কাজে লাগিয়ে মেয়েদের যে স্বপ্ন দেখার সাহস বাড়িয়ে দিলেন তার জন্য অনেক কৃতজ্ঞতা। আজকের থেকে এই ছোট মেয়েগুলো যারা মুখ ফুটে বলতে পারে না যে আমি বড় হয়ে ন্যাশনাল লেভেলের প্লেয়ার হতে চাই। আপনি শুধু তাদের কথা শুনে বসে থাকেন নাই। তারা যাতে তাদের স্বপ্ন বয়ে সামনে নিতে পারে সেটার সুযোগ তৈরি করেছেন। এর চেয়ে সুন্দর ফ্যাসিলিটেশন আর কি হতে পারে বলেন। আমি অনেক গর্বিত আপনাকে নিয়ে। এই যে উদাহরণটা ছেলেমেয়েরা সৃষ্টি করলো তা আসলে ব্যাসপুরের মানুষদের ভাবনার খোরাক যোগাবে বলে আমার বিশ্বাস। এবং ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি টিমের সাথে খেলে যে মেয়েরা সেফ ফিল করেছে সেটা মেয়েদের হাসিমাখা মুখ দেখেই বোঝা যাচ্ছে। খুব ভালো টিম বানিয়েছেন প্রকাশ ভাই।

আপু যেমন আপনার ফ্যেসিলেটেশন অনেক ভালো। তেমনি ছেলে মেয়ের খেলার উদ্যোগ ছিল দারূন। সমাজে ছেলে মেয়ের কোনো বৈষম্য ভেদাভেদ ও অসম্মান থাকবে না। এই ভাবে উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে যখন তারা একত্রিত হবে।

অসাধারণ উদ্যোগ! মনিরা আপা,  ব্যাসপুর কমিউনিটিতে মেয়েদের অংশগ্রহণ ও সমতার এই পরিবর্তন সত্যিই অনুপ্রেরণাদায়ক। সল্টের শক্তি এভাবেই মানুষকে একসাথে শেখায় ও এগিয়ে নেয়।
