On-line SALT course Module 2, Exercise 2: A space of trust

If I’m comfortable with the idea that we need to create and hold a space of trust? O yeah, of course!

My experience of being part of a group where no space of trust did exist: I felt alone; I was able to achieve acceptable results but I didn’t florish; everybody was working on his/her own; there was no synergy; sometimes I felt we were enemies.

When there is trust within a group, the result is far more than the sum of its parts; being and working together is fun, gives satisfaction and fulfilment; together you fly! And, important too: you can share responsibility. If I don’t know how to proceed, another will have inspiration (and the other way round).

‘What is space of trust?’, Rituu asks. For me a space of trust is: when people see each other for who they are; when everyone can be her or his true self; when there are no judgements; when everyone can discover ánd use her or his strenghts.

What helps to build the space of trust is when I have: an open mind and open eyes; no judgements; appreciation for everyone I meet and for what others do for me; curiosity for what the other thrives.

Of course I only can talk for myself. Please, everyone who reads this, add what is true for you!
