My another dream about youth!

In Indonesia, National Family Planing Board has been developing youth program at community to address adolescent reproductive health - ARH or Pusat Informasi dan Konseling Kesehatan Reproduksi Remaja (PIK-KRR).  It works to campaign triad ARH issues, namely prevent sex before married, drugs and HIV-AIDS . This in turn is aimed to prepare youth for quality marriage life. The program trains youths and establishes youth center at community at district level. District Family Planing office then doing training youths and establishing youth center at sub-district level. Meanwhile Ministry of health office provide youth friendly services at public health center. 

I find that this program facing a challenge on how to make trained youths could work independently with minimum supervision. Most of youth centers run their activities by fully support of government.  Youth centers and selected public health that provide youth friendly service that become beneficiaries of some donors, international and local NGO perform better than others that were not supported by mentioned parties. At general sustainability of youth doing campaign of Triad ARH issues and running youth center are at risk. 

Had been working with CLCP and SALT approach, then I found very wide opportunity to promoting sustainability of youth involvement and existence of youth center at community.  I discussed with center of research and training center of Provincial Family Planing Office, promoting CLCP as an approach to train and preparing youth center development and capacity building. The training center and me now working to develop training module and agenda by integrating CLCP at fixed curriculum training used to be utilized by the training center.  We plan to train 24 batches of youths at the West Java Province. 

My another dream is that,I am really motivated to ensure that forthcoming trainings will produce SALTY youths, and also SALTY trainers who are not member of IndoCompetence, and convince Provincial Training center to permanently adopt new model of training and been adopted at national level.

I hope at three or four weeks ahead I could share what a fantastic learning and sharing moments from trainings, trainers and trainees.
