Takhat Kunwar (Age53, F), member of Patient Support Group Gorana Village, Block-Jhadol, Udaipur Rajasthan shared her story over the phone in the COVID-19 Pandemic Lock Down. She told that "she is suffering from high blood pressure from past 4 years. This time she was the part of Health Rise Project. When base line done in August 19 at that time her BP was not normal. She measured 142/90 by out reach worker Pramila Purbia. She shared that she didn't take B.P. pills regular before the health rise project & SALT meeting.She take pills, only when she was felt not good. Also she hesitate to talk & not taken part in the community PSG meetings. Pramila & other CHAI team members did SALT visits individually and community Patient Support Group meetings in her village in the regular intervals.She said that joined 4-5 meetings and learnt new things and speak up her voice in those meetings . Now i am confident to share my things to the others. Also learnt new things from others that not stop to take hypertension pills without Dr. advice. She added B.P. patient should get checked up by Dr. every month. She learnt from others that do physical exercise at home, reduce salt & oily food in her regular routine life. After 2-3 SALT/PSG meeting she get interest to attend the meetings where she speak and get new knowledge.She said that shared things in her house, so all family members aware about good health. Listen her and start to discuss things.
