In March 2024, my colleagues Sadia, Mariam, Mihsan, Razin, and I participated in an in person group SALT conversation at the organizational level. It was a two-day process focused on dream building for our foundation. The experience was very inspiring.
During our group SALT session, after sharing our personal story we all gathered around a big white chart paper and started noting down our ideas. The goal was to envision where we want to see our organization by the year 2030. We looked into five main areas:
- Our shred dream 2030
- Main Actions
- Where do we stand now?
- Sub-action (How)
For the second and third areas, we used a rubric and assigned numbers from 1 to 5 to evaluate our current standing and our dream.
As we shared and compiled our ideas, we found that some of us had similar visions, while others had unique and different perspectives. It was great to see the different thoughts and our dreams come together. We discussed and debated, and in the end, we had an amazing combined plan for our organization’s future.
This group SALT, dream building and self-assessment conversation helped us understand each other's views and build a shared vision. I also understood and enjoyed the importance of collaboration and collective dreaming in achieving our goals. By the end of the process, we felt more motivated and ready to work towards making our dreams a reality. The entire experience was not only about planning but also about connecting with my colleagues on a deeper level.

SALT allows us to dream and strive to make it happen. Also due to self-assessment we understand the progress made in us.
