গত শুক্রবার বিকেলে জয়নগর হাই স্কুল মাঠে ব্যাসপুরের বিভিন্ন পাড়ার তরুণদের অংশগ্রহণে অনুষ্ঠিত হলো এক জমজমাট ফুটবল ম্যাচ। কাটাখালির পদ্ম ও রংধনু টিম, দক্ষিণপাড়ার রানা-রাকিব টিম এবং হিজলিপাড়ার নিরব টিম নিজেদের উদ্যোগে এই আয়োজন সম্পন্ন করে।
রানা, রাকিব, নিরব,আবির,জিহাদ এদের টিম নিয়মিত নিজ নিজ এলাকায় বিভিন্ন খেলাধুলার সঙ্গে যুক্ত থাকে। কেউ ক্যারাম খেলে, কেউ ক্রিকেট, আবার কেউ ফুটবল অনুশীলন করে। তবে এবার পদ্ম ও রংধনু টিমের সাথে ফলোআপ করার সময় তারা জানায় তারা তো নিজেরা নিজেরাই অনেক খেলে, এবার তারা আমাদের অন্য টিমদের সাথেও খেলতে চায়। যাতে তারা আরও মানুষের সাথে পরিচিত হতে পারে, একসাথে সবাই খেলতে পারে, তাদের টিমের মানুষ বাড়াতে পারে। তাই আমি আমাদের দক্ষিনপাড়া এবং হিজলিপাড়ার টিমের ছেলেদের সাথে কথা বলি। তারাও সানন্দে রাজি হয় একসাথে খেলতে।

চারটি টিম একত্রিত হয়ে দুই দলে বিভক্ত হয়ে প্রতিযোগিতামূলক একটি ম্যাচে অংশ নেয়।খেলাকে আকর্ষণীয় করতে তারা নিজেরাই চাঁদা তুলে বিজয়ী দলের জন্য ১২ ইঞ্চি কাপ এবং রানার্সআপ দলের জন্য ১০ ইঞ্চি কাপ সংগ্রহ করে। পাশাপাশি খেলোয়াড়দের জন্য কলা, পাউরুটি ও সেন্টার ফ্রুট দিয়ে ছোট পরিসরে নাস্তারও ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। নিজেদের উদ্যোগে এমন আয়োজন সত্যিই প্রশংসার দাবিদার।
মাঠে খেলোয়াড় ও দর্শক মিলিয়ে ৪০ জনেরও বেশি মানুষ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। শুধু তরুণরাই নয়, শিশু, নারী এবং এলাকার সাধারণ মানুষও উৎসাহ নিয়ে পুরো খেলা উপভোগ করেন। মাঠজুড়ে ছিল প্রাণচাঞ্চল্য আর উচ্ছ্বাস।
হিজলিপাড়া ও দক্ষিণপাড়ার দলের কয়েকজন খেলোয়াড় ব্যক্তিগত কারণে উপস্থিত হতে না পারলেও আয়োজকরা তাদের ফোন করে যোগাযোগ করেছিলেন। কেউ বেড়াতে গিয়েছিল, কারও পরিবারের বিয়ের অনুষ্ঠান ছিল। তারপরও যারা এসেছিল, তাদের সবার মধ্যেই খেলাকে ঘিরে ছিল প্রবল আগ্রহ ও উদ্দীপনা।
আম্পায়ারের জন্য অপেক্ষা করতে গিয়ে খেলা শুরুতে কিছুটা দেরি হচ্ছিল। পরে রংধনু টিমের দুই খেলোয়াড় এলাকার অভিজ্ঞ আম্পায়ার রাজু কাজীকে নিয়ে আসে। এর আগে প্রায় ১০ মিনিট স্থানীয় বড় ভাই জসিমউদ্দীন খেলা পরিচালনা করেন। এরপর রাজু কাজী দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করলে খেলা আরও সুন্দরভাবে এগিয়ে যায়।
প্রতিটি অর্ধ ২৫ মিনিট করে মোট ৫০ মিনিটের খেলা এবং মাঝখানে ১০ মিনিটের বিরতি নির্ধারণ করা হয়। ম্যাচের শুরুতেই রংধনু-পদ্মা টিম প্রথম গোল করে এগিয়ে যায়। কিছুক্ষণ পর রানা-রাকিব টিমের হয়ে রাকিব একটি গোল শোধ করেন। তবে খেলার শেষ ১৫ মিনিটের মধ্যে রংধনু-পদ্মা টিম আরও একটি গোল করে জয় নিশ্চিত করে।
চূড়ান্ত ফলাফল:
রংধনু-পদ্মা টিম ২ – ১ হিজলিপাড়া-দক্ষিণপাড়া (রানা-রাকিব) টিম।
পুরো ম্যাচজুড়ে টানটান উত্তেজনা, করতালি আর দর্শকদের উল্লাসে মাঠ ছিল মুখর। খেলা শেষে স্থানীয় আম্পায়ার রাজু কাজীর হাত থেকে বিজয়ী রংধনু-পদ্মা টিম ১২ ইঞ্চি কাপ এবং রানার্সআপ হিজলিপাড়া-দক্ষিণপাড়া টিম ১০ ইঞ্চি কাপ গ্রহণ করে।
সবচেয়ে আনন্দের বিষয় হলো, এই তরুণদের লক্ষ্য শুধু একটি ম্যাচ আয়োজন নয়। তারা ভবিষ্যতে আরও নতুন টিম তৈরি করে নিয়মিত খেলাধুলার আয়োজন করতে চায়। তাদের বিশ্বাস, পড়াশোনার পাশাপাশি খেলাধুলা শারীরিক সুস্থতা ও মানসিক প্রশান্তি অর্জনের অন্যতম কার্যকর মাধ্যম। এই সুন্দর ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তনে পুরোটা সময় তরুনদের পাশে রয়েছে আমাদের নতুন সল্ট ফ্যাসিলিটেটর তানভীর হোসেন মঈন। যে সার্বক্ষনিক সাপোর্ট করেছে কিশোরদের। তাই তারা মাঠের সঙ্গেই নিজেদের যুক্ত রাখতে দৃঢ়প্রতিজ্ঞ।
তাদের এই উদ্যোগ, আত্মনির্ভরশীলতা এবং ইতিবাচক মানসিকতা সত্যিই অনুপ্রেরণাদায়ক। এমন আয়োজন প্রমাণ করে, সঠিক দিকনির্দেশনা ও পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতা থাকলে যুবকরাই একটি কমিউনিটির ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তনের অন্যতম শক্তিতে পরিণত হতে পারে।

Last Friday afternoon, a vibrant football match was held at Joynagar High School Field with the participation of young people from different neighborhoods of Byespur. The event was organized by the youth themselves, bringing together the Padma and Rongdhonu teams from Katakhali, the Rana–Rakib team from Dokkhinpara , and the Nirab team from Hijlipara.
Rana, Rakib, Nirab, Abir, Jihad, and their teammates are regularly involved in sports activities within their own communities. Some play carrom, others cricket, while many practice football. During a follow-up session with the Padma and Rongdhonu teams, they shared that although they often played among themselves, they wanted to compete with other teams as well. Their goal was to meet more people, play together, and expand their network of teammates and friends. After discussing the idea with the youth from Dokkhinpara and Hijlipara, everyone happily agreed to organize a match together.
The four teams combined and divided into two competitive sides for the game. To make the event more exciting, the players collected contributions among themselves to purchase a 12-inch trophy for the champions and a 10-inch trophy for the runners-up. They also arranged simple refreshments, including bananas, bread, and Center Fruit candy, for all the participants. Organizing such an event entirely through their own initiative is truly commendable.
More than 40 people, including players and spectators, gathered at the field. It was not only the youth who enjoyed the match—children, women, and other community members also came to watch and cheer, creating an energetic and joyful atmosphere.
Although a few players from Hijlipara and Dokkhinpara could not attend due to personal reasons, the organizers contacted them by phone. Some were traveling, while others were attending family wedding ceremonies. Even so, those who participated showed remarkable enthusiasm and excitement for the game.
The match started slightly late because everyone was waiting for the referee. Eventually, two players from the Rongdhonu team brought in experienced local referee Raju Kazi. Before his arrival, local elder brother Jasim Uddin officiated the match for about ten minutes. Once Raju Kazi took over, the game continued smoothly and professionally.
The match consisted of two 25-minute halves with a 10-minute halftime break. Padma–Rongdhonu took an early lead by scoring the opening goal. Shortly afterward, Rakib equalized for the Rana–Rakib side. However, within the final 15 minutes, Padma–Rongdhonu scored again and secured the victory.

Throughout the match, the field echoed with applause, excitement, and enthusiastic support from the spectators. At the end of the game, local referee Raju Kazi presented the 12-inch championship trophy to the winning Padma–Rongdhonu team and the 10-inch runners-up trophy to the Hijlipara–Dokkhinpara team.
The most inspiring part of this initiative is that these young people are not planning to stop with just one match. They hope to create more teams and organize regular sporting events in the future. They believe that alongside education, sports are one of the best ways to maintain physical health and mental well-being.
Supporting this positive transformation every step of the way has been our new SALT facilitator, Tanvir Hossain Moin, who has continuously encouraged and guided the teenagers. With his support, they are determined to stay connected to the field rather than spending excessive time on mobile phones.
Their initiative, self-reliance, and positive mindset are truly inspiring. This event demonstrates that with the right guidance and mutual cooperation, young people can become one of the greatest driving forces for positive change within their community.
