Laura Simms, story teller based in New York, attended the knowledge Fair in Guwahati. Constellation with CNES and Voluntary Health Association of Assam have been working on community ownership and action on health in three districts - Bongaigaon, Udalguri and Kamrup rural. On 5th and 6th feb 2020, community members came together to share and learn on the actions they are taking for health of their children. Youth role in this process has been strong.
During the festival Laura visited village Hiragata, in Kamrup rural district and shares her experience. In India I visited a village north of Guwahati in Assam with facilitators of the remarkable SALT process of community involvement. Here we are in front of a school that has a grassy field surrounded by a safe hand made fence, fresh water and newly planted trees. Here is the small revolution of human resourcefulness and creativity that saves us. Do not give up your creativity and heart. Reach out to others constantly directly and honestly.
Thank you Laura; great way to speak about the transfer that follows the ownership of a specific issue. It clearly highlights the value of the SALT/CLCP for addressing SDGs.
