Greetings:
Share an Opportunity (SAO) India is actively implementing the ACP tools in our target area communities and it is showing good results.
On the occasion of WORLD AIDS DAY – December 1st 2008. The SAO India got the privilege of participation in the symposium on “ HIV Role and Responsibility of Church Today” organized by local NGO and World Vision India at Secunderabad. The Dignitaries and Important Church leaders from different churches, Dr.Pulukuri Abraham, SAO India, along with senior staff of SAO India, Salvation Army Hyderabad, NGO’s and community leaders, total 58 members attended the Symposium.The dignitaries shared the experiences of their ministry.
Mr.Jayakar Project Coordinator, SAO India shared about ADB-ACP and its implementation by SAO India. The ACP is other way approach of HIV, a way of working and a way of thinking, he explained. “We believe in people’s capacity to solve their own problems” how we engaged in our communities through SALT approach, Jayakar said.
The Resolution made at end of the Meeting:
• To organize ACP-SALT among NGO’s and Church elders and and invite UNAIDS head and ADB-ACP Chairman.
• Organize School Health Programs like Character Building Education.
• ACP-SALT Approach in the rural churches in Andhra Pradesh.
• Counseling/Medical center at church places.
