Communities:

                    ITAV Students

                    ITAV Teachers

In the Health Zone of Bibanga, the Salt Approach is gaining attention as it is the case in the Area of Health of Kaponji. Salt is transferred to development and the two fore mentioned communities have taken ownership of their own issues.

The Agricultural Technique and Veterinary Institute (ITAV) was in housed in the buildings of the Tshiovo primary school for a number of years. The task was not easy for the institute. In the village, students help their parents by working in their field or that of their teacher before noon. In this state of fatigue, the student has to go to school in the afternoon. You realize that the material to be learned will be a headache.

Fortunately, the Salt Approach was introduced in Bibanga, the health area of Kaponji was selected, and the prefect of the institute was among the Kaponji local facilitators. Two communities started in the institute: one for students and one for teachers. Both chose to work on the HANDWASHING practice.

Students and teachers found important the self-care advocated by the approach. They agreed to end their dependence by building their own premises. As we are sharing this story, three premises are constructed, and work is progressing for the rest. They also apprehended Resource Mobilization practice as they are using local resources.
