Despite being married off by her family at a young age, Shorna apu remained passionate about her education. With the support of her husband and through her own efforts, she has managed to continue her studies and is now a second-year degree student. This achievement is a source of great pride for her.
Apu is concerned about a common issue in her society: many girls are married off before they have the opportunity to pursue higher education. When asked about the reasons behind this practice, she explained that many guardians believe it is better for girls to be settled in their husband's home sooner rather than later. There is also a fear among parents that their daughters might engage in activities that could bring dishonor to the family if they are not married off early. This fear is often linked to the occurrence of young love marriages, which sometimes happen against the family's wishes.
Despite these societal pressures, Apu did not let them deter her from her educational goals. She did not take any direct action to change this societal norm, but her personal commitment to continuing her studies serves as a powerful example.
From Apu, I observed several admirable qualities: she is very focused on her studies, conscious of her responsibilities, hardworking, determined, and brave. She is also adept at managing her family while pursuing her educational aspirations.
Through my conversation with Apu, I learned the importance of perseverance and the ability to balance family responsibilities with personal goals. Her story is a testament to how one can continue their education despite significant obstacles. Child marriage is not solely due to economic instability; there may be many other social reasons behind it.
The Salt conversation with Apu went smoothly, and I was able to complete it successfully. Apu's story is inspiring and highlights the importance of supporting education for all, regardless of societal pressures.

আপুর গল্পটা ছিল এরকম তার লেখাপড়া করতে খুব আগ্রহ। কিন্তু তার পরিবার তাকে উপযুক্ত পাত্র পেয়ে বিয়ে দিয়ে দেন।
কিন্তু আপু তার স্বামীকে ম্যানেজ করে এবং তার পরিবারকে ম্যানেজ করে এখনো লেখাপড়া চালিয়ে যাচ্ছেন। সে এখন ডিগ্রী দ্বিতীয় বর্ষের ছাত্রী। এটা নিয়েই আপু নিজেকে গর্বিত মনে করেন।
আপু যে বিষয়টি নিয়ে চিন্তিত সেটি হচ্ছে তার সমাজ অনেকে আছেন যারা তাদের মেয়েদেরকে উচ্চশিক্ষা গ্রহণের আগেই বিয়ে দিয়ে দেন। কেন বিয়ে দিয়ে দেন কথাটি জানতে চাইলে আপু বলেন গার্জিয়ান মনে করে কি শ্বশুর বাড়ি গিয়েই ভালো থাকবে। আজ অথবা কাল তো বিয়ে শাদী দিতেই হবে। এছাড়াও পরিবারে কোন সম্মানহানি কাজ যদি করে তারা এই বিষয় নিয়েও গার্জিয়ানদের মধ্যে আতংক থাকেন। এ বিষয়ে আতঙ্ক থাকার কারণ জানতে চাইলে। আপু বলেন অনেক মেয়ে ছেলেরাই অল্প বয়সেই প্রেম ভালবাসার মাধ্যমে বিবাহ বন্ধনে আবদ্ধ হন। অনেক সময় পরিবারের গার্জিয়ানদের এখানে সম্মতি থাকে না।
এই কারণেই সমস্যাটি থেকেই যাচ্ছে।
এ বিষয়ে আপু কোন পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করেননি তবে তার একান্ত চেষ্টায় তিনি নিজে লেখাপড়া ছাড়েননি।
আপুর মধ্যে যে সকল গুণ আমি লক্ষ্য করেছি তিনি লেখাপড়ায় খুব মনোযোগী। আগ্রহী সচেতন ব্যক্তি পরিশ্রমী মেয়ে, সদ্ব্যবহারকারি, সাহসী মেয়ে।
আপুর কাছ থেকে আমি যা শিখেছি শত প্রতিকূলতার পরেও কিভাবে নিজের লেখাপড়া চালিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া যায়। কিভাবে পরিবারকে ম্যানেজ করা যায়। এবং শুধুমাত্র অর্থনৈতিক অস্বচ্ছলতার জন্যই বাল্যবিবাহ হয় না, এটার পেছনে আরো অনেক সামাজিক কারণ থাকতে পারে।
সল্ট কনভারসেশনে আমি তেমন কোনো বাধা সম্মুখীন হই নি সুন্দরভাবে কাজটি শেষ করতে পেরেছি।
