ছেলেমেয়ের ভেদাভেদ নয়, সমান অধিকারই আসল শিক্ষা || Real education is not about gender discrimination, but equal rights

পেচাঁকোলা কমিউনিটির অগ্রগামী বিদ্যানিকেতন স্কুলের শিক্ষক রিজভি স্যার একজন যত্নশীল ও দায়িত্বশীল মানুষ। কিছুদিন আগে তার সাথে একটি সল্ট আলোচনা হয় পুরুষত্ব বা Masculinity বিষয় নিয়ে। সেই আলোচনায় রিজভি স্যার তার ছোটবেলার একটি অভিজ্ঞতা শেয়ার করেন।

তিনি বলেন, ছোটবেলায় যখন ভাইবোন একসাথে খেতে বসতেন, তখন তার মা তাকে একজন ছেলে হিসেবে একটু বেশি গুরুত্ব দিতেন। তখন এটা তার কাছে স্বাভাবিকই মনে হতো। কিন্তু সল্টের মাধ্যমে পুরুষত্ব নিয়ে আলোচনার সময় তিনি উপলব্ধি করেন, এই ধরনের আচরণ থেকেই আমাদের সমাজে ধীরে ধীরে ছেলে-মেয়ের ভেদাভেদ তৈরি হয়।

এই উপলব্ধির পর তিনি নিজেকে বদলাতে শুরু করেন। এখন তিনি নিয়মিত তার মায়ের ঘরের কাজে সাহায্য করেন। সমাজকে দেখিয়ে দেন – ছেলে হওয়া মানেই কাজ না করা নয়। তিনি বিশ্বাস করেন, সবাই মিলে একসাথে কাজ করলেই পরিবার ও সমাজে শান্তি থাকে।

শুধু বাড়িতেই নয়, রিজভি স্যার স্কুলেও পরিবর্তন এনেছেন। সময় পেলে তিনি ক্লাসে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের সঙ্গে জেন্ডার নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। তিনি বলেন, ছেলে আর মেয়ে – এই ভেদাভেদ আমাদের সমাজ তৈরি করেছে, প্রকৃতি নয়। তিনি মিনা ও রাজুর গল্প ব্যবহার করে ক্লাসে বোঝান, কীভাবে ছেলেমেয়েরা সমানভাবে সব কাজ করতে পারে।

এই পরিবর্তনের কারণ কী?
কারণ হলো – উপলব্ধি। রিজভি স্যার বুঝেছেন, ছোট ছোট বিষয় থেকেই বড় বৈষম্য তৈরি হয়। যদি আজকের শিশুরা সমানভাবে বড় হয়, তাহলে আগামী দিনের সমাজ হবে আরও ন্যায্য ও মানবিক।

এই পরিবর্তনের ফলাফল কী?
এই পরিবর্তনের সবচেয়ে বড় ফল হলো ইতিবাচক প্রভাব। তার পরিবারে এখন ছেলে-মেয়ের কাজের পার্থক্য নেই। স্কুলে ছাত্রছাত্রীরাদের শেখাচ্ছেন সমান মর্যাদা দিতে। অনেক শিক্ষার্থী এখন বাড়ি গিয়ে তাদের বাবা-মাকে বলে – মা, বাবাও তো রান্না করতে পারেন!

এভাবে একজন শিক্ষকের ছোট পরিবর্তন একটি কমিউনিটির দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি বদলে দিচ্ছে।

Rizvi Sir, a teacher at Agrogami Biddha Niketan School in Pechakola Community, he is a caring and responsible person. A few days ago, a SALT discussion was held with him on the topic of “Masculinity”. In that discussion, he shared an experience from his childhood.

He said that when his siblings used to sit down to eat together, his mother would give him more importance as a boy. At that time, it think natural to him. But during the discussion on masculinity through SALT, he realized that this kind of behavior gradually creates differences between boys and girls in our society.

After this realization, he started changing himself. Now he regularly helps his mother with household work. He shows the society that being a boy does not mean not working. He believes that if everyone works together, there is peace in the family and society.

Not only at home, He has brought about changes in school. Whenever he gets time, he discusses gender with the students in the class. He says, this difference between boys and girls is created by our society, not nature. He uses the story of Meena and Raju to explain to the class how boys and girls can do all the work equally.

What is the reason for this change?

The reason is perception. He understands that big differences are created from small things. If todays children grow up equally, then the society of tomorrow will be more just and humane.

What is the result of this change?

The biggest result of this change is the positive impact. In his family, there is no difference in the work of boys and girls now. In school, he teaches students to give equal status. Many students now go home and tell their parents Mom, Dad can cook too!

In this way, a small change by a teacher is changing the perspective of a community.
