From Preparation to Inspiration :Our Knowledge Fair Journey.

১৯ এপ্রিল ২০২৫ এ অনুষ্ঠিত নলেজ ফেয়ার অর্থাৎ জ্ঞানের মেলাটা ছিল তিন থেকে চার ঘন্টা ব্যাপী সময়ের একটা অনুষ্ঠান। কিন্তু এটার প্রস্তুতি চলছিল আমাদের মধ্যে দীর্ঘ এক থেকে দেড় মাস। Grow Your Reader Foundation (GYRF) এর প্রতিটি সদস্যের দিন রাত অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রম এবং কমিউনিটির মানুষের আন্তরিকতায় প্রস্ফুটিত হওয়া আমাদের এই জ্ঞানের মেলা। আমাদের সকলের ঘাম ঝরেছে সত্য তবে তার থেকে অত্যন্ত আনন্দের বিষয় হলো যতটা কাজ বা পরিশ্রম করেছি এর থেকে অনেক বেশি শিখতে পেরেছি। অনেক বাস্তব অভিজ্ঞতার সম্মুখীন হয়েছি এবং বড় প্রোগ্রামের মাধ্যমে ছোট ছোট প্রোগ্রাম কিভাবে নিজেরাই আয়োজন করতে পারি এটাও শিখেছি। সবাইকে নিয়ে কিভাবে সামনের দিকে অগ্রসর হতে হয় এবং সাফল্য আসে এটাও ছিল একটা শিক্ষা। লক্ষ্য ছিল আমাদের গ্রামের সবার যাতে মনে হয় এটা সবার জ্ঞানের মেলা। আমাদের জ্ঞানের মেলাকে সুন্দর সাবলীল এবং মনমুগ্ধকর করে তুলতে চেষ্টা করেছি আমরা সবাই সর্বাত্মকভাবে। সকলের সম্মিলিত বিন্দু বিন্দু প্রচেষ্টায় জ্ঞানের মেলাটা ফুটিয়ে তোলার চেষ্টা করেছি তবে জানিনা কতটা সার্থক হয়েছি। আমি মনের দিক থেকে অনেকটাই সার্থকতা অনুভব করেছি। যদিও ক্ষুদ্র ক্ষুদ্র কিছু ত্রুটি ছিল যেটার থেকেও শিখেছি আগামীতে আমাদের অন্য প্রোগ্রামকে সুন্দর করার জন্য কি করতে হবে। এভাবেই আর্ক কোহোরটের প্রতিটি সংগঠনের জ্ঞানের মেলা সবাইকে জানতে জানাতে এবং শিখতে শেখাতে অনেক প্রভাবিত করবে।

তাই তো ভাই এভাবে মোরা শিখব সবাই,
এক অভিন্ন চেতনা, জাগ্রত হবে সবার মনের কল্পনা।
বিশ্বজুড়ে ছড়িয়ে দিব SALT এর আরাধনা।

ব্যাসপুর গ্রামের মানুষের এগিয়ে আসাটা আমাদের জন্য অত্যন্ত গর্বের। আর যেহেতু আমাদের অনেকগুলো Active team পাঁচটি পাড়াতে এবং সবাই জ্ঞানের মেলাতে পারফর্ম করতে চায় তাই আমাদের প্রথমে সব অ্যাকটিভ টিম থেকে মেম্বার নিয়ে এক একটা পারফরমেন্সের টিম গঠন করতে হয়েছে। এর মাধ্যমে পাড়া গুলোর মানুষের সম্পর্ক ও ভালো হয়েছে এবং সবার অংশগ্রহণ নিশ্চিত হয়েছে। গ্রামের মানুষের ন্যাচারাল জিনিসটা যখন তারা নাটকের মাধ্যমে তুলে ধরতে চাচ্ছিল তখন কেমন যেন ন্যাচারাল মনে হচ্ছিল না তবে তারা নিজেদের মতো করে বহুবার অনুশীলন করেছে বলে অনেক বেশি স্বাচ্ছন্দ্যবোধ করছিল। আমরা শুধুমাত্র তাদের অনুশীলন দেখতাম তারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের মত আমাদেরকে দেখাতো শোনাতো। আমরা বসে থেকেছি তাদের পাশে যাতে তাদের কখনো মনে না হয় তারা একা। পোস্টার প্রেজেন্টেশনের জন্য দীর্ঘ এক মাস সময় নিয়ে শিক্ষার্থীরা পোস্টার বানিয়েছে। নিজেদের সৃজনশীলতা দিয়ে এবং নিজেরা বারবার চর্চা করেছে তাদের উপস্থাপনা যেন অনেক ভালো হয়। সুন্দরভাবে যেন তারা তাদের কাজের বর্ণনা সবার সামনে তুলে ধরতে পারে। শেল্ফ এসেস্মেন্ট অংশটি এতো সুন্দর করে বর্ণনা করেছে তারা যে আমি নিজেই নতুন করে।

শিখেছি তাদের কাছ থেকে। জারিগানের দলকে সাহায্য করার জন্য এগিয়ে এসেছেন শিক্ষকরা। এ যে কি সুন্দর মুহূর্ত।
এক্টিভ দলগুলোর এগিয়ে আসা দেখে এখন গ্রামের অন্যরা অনেক বেশি অনুপ্রাণিত হয়েছে এবং আমাদের সাথে যোগাযোগ করছে তারাও বিভিন্ন কর্মকান্ডে অংশগ্রহণ করবে বলে। এমনটা আমাদের জন্য বড় একটা অর্জন।
সমস্যা যে ধরনেরই হোক না কেন তা যেন সবাই মিলে সমাধান করতে পারি এটাই হবে আমাদের সকলের লক্ষ্য। জ্ঞানের মেলা পরবর্তী আমাদের যে কাজগুলো বেশি করতে হবে সেটি হল বেশি বেশি করে ফ্যামিলি সল্ট এবং সেলফ এসেসমেন্ট করে সামনের দিকে অগ্রসর হওয়া। স্বপ্ন দেখতে উদ্বুদ্ধ করা এবং স্বপ্নের অবস্থান সম্পর্কে জানাতে বারবার সেলফ এসেসমেন্ট করাটা খুবই জরুরী। সুতরাং পরবর্তী স্টেপে কমিউনিটিতে আমাদের এই কাজগুলোতে বেশি অগ্রসর হতে হবে। কাজের মাধ্যমেই সহজে নিজেকে যোগ্য করে গড়ে তোলা যায় এবং ভুলত্রুটির মাধ্যমে যে শিক্ষা অর্জন হয় সেই শিক্ষাটা অনেক বেশি টেকসই হয়। কাজের মাধ্যমে জ্ঞান শেখাটা অনেক আনন্দময় এবং ফলপ্রসূ হয়। Grow Your Reader Foundation কর্তৃক আয়োজিত এই জ্ঞানের মেলা চিরস্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে আমাদের হৃদয়ে। এর আগেও আমরা অন্য ধরনের প্রোগ্রাম করেছি তবে জ্ঞানের মেলাটা ছিল আমাদের কাছে নতুন অধ্যায়। নতুন করে শেখার অধ্যায়। জ্ঞানের মেলার পর থেকে কমিউনিটির মানুষ বেশি করে আমাদের ভালোবাসা শুরু করেছে। এটা অন্যরকম একটা ভালোলাগা। আমি আমার সংস্থা Grow Your Reader Foundation (GYRF), আমাদের পুরো GYRF পরিবার এবং ARC Initiative এর সকলকে নিয়ে অনেক গর্বিত। সবাই মিলে আমরা একটা সগল মেলা করেছি এবং একসাথে শিখেছি। এবং সবার অংশগ্রহনেই আমাদের গ্রামের মানুষ ভীষণভাবে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়েছে।

The Knowledge Fair held on April 19, 2025, was a 3–4 hour-long event. But the preparation for it had been going on for over a month, sometimes even more than one and a half months. This Knowledge Fair blossomed through the tireless day-and-night efforts of every member of the Grow Your Reader Foundation (GYRF) and the heartfelt involvement of the community members.
All of us put in our sweat and hard work — but what’s most joyful is that we learned even more than we worked. We gained real-world experience and learned how to organize small programs ourselves through the process of arranging a large one. We also learned how to move forward together as a team — and that success comes when everyone is involved.
Our goal was for every villager to feel that this is their Knowledge Fair. All of us gave our best to make it smooth, vibrant, and engaging. We tried to bring the fair to life through everyone’s combined and consistent efforts — although we’re not sure how successful we were, I personally feel a deep sense of success from the heart.
Yes, there were some small mistakes, but even those taught us what to do better in our future programs. In this way, the Knowledge Fairs organized by each ARC cohort organization will go on to inform, inspire, and encourage both learning and sharing.
And so, dear friends, we will all keep learning together,
A united spirit awakening imagination in each heart.
We will spread the light of SALT across the world.
The way the people of Baspur village stepped up has been a great source of pride for us. And since we had many active teams across five different localities — and everyone wanted to perform at the fair — we had to first form performance teams by including members from each active team. This actually helped build stronger relationships among people from different parts of the village and ensured everyone’s participation.
When villagers tried to portray their real-life experiences through plays, it initially didn’t feel very natural. But after multiple rounds of practice in their own way, they became much more comfortable and confident. We simply sat with them, listened, and watched their rehearsals — just to make sure they never felt alone.
For the poster presentations, students worked for over a month. They poured in their creativity and practiced over and over to improve their delivery. They wanted to present their work in the best possible way. The Self-Assessment section was so beautifully explained by them that I personally learned new insights from them.
Seeing the active teams take initiative has inspired many others in the village, and now they are reaching out to us, wanting to be part of different activities. This is a huge achievement for us.
No matter what kind of problem arises, our goal should be to solve it together. After the Knowledge Fair, our next priority is to conduct more Family SALT and Self-Assessment sessions, which will help us move forward. It’s important to encourage people to dream and help them understand where they stand in relation to those dreams — and for that, self-assessment is essential. Teachers have come forward to support the Jari Gaan troupe — what a beautiful moment this is.
So, in the next phase, we must focus more on these areas within the community. It’s through work that we truly build our skills, and the lessons learned through mistakes are the ones that stay with us the longest. Learning through hands-on experience is both joyful and impactful.
The Knowledge Fair organized by Grow Your Reader Foundation will remain etched in our hearts forever. We’ve done other programs in the past, but this Fair was a new chapter — a chapter of fresh learning. Since the Fair, the community has started showering us with even more love and support — and that’s a unique, heartwarming feeling.
I am incredibly proud of my organization, Grow Your Reader Foundation (GYRF), our entire GYRF family, and all members of the ARC Initiative. Together, we organized a successful fair and learned as one. Through everyone’s participation, our village community has become deeply inspired.
