Last month, my team and I held a dream-building session at our office, where we envisioned what the Grow Your Reader Foundation could become by 2040.I’ve been part of sessions like this before, but this one surpassed all my expectations. The depth of the discussions made me see, in a way I hadn’t before, just how meaningful our work truly is. I was moved by how each person in the team spoke about Grow Your Reader Foundation with such heart, showing me that…

Our GYRF facilitators in Gopalganj recently shared a report about a few small community-driven actions taken by the people of Byaspur.
What truly moved me when reading the report was how the mothers in the neighborhood united- sharing ideas and swiftly taking action to address problems within their community. They didn't just talk; they acted. Hearing that these ideas were not only discussed but also implemented filled me with admiration. I read how they are making an effort to…

At Grow Your Reader Foundation, we strive to facilitate profound comprehension and seamless implementation. With this in mind, we have meticulously translated the SALT/CLCP process into Bangla, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all practitioners. As I delved into documenting the lives of the people in Byaspur, a village in Gopalganj, Bangladesh, I found myself struck by a common thread running through their narratives. Each person talked about similar challenges they observed within their community. Yet, what struck me the most was the overwhelming sense of isolation they experienced, as if they were shouldering these burdens alone. It got me thinking: did they realize they weren't in this alone?
Unity emerged as a recurring…

On the 30th of January, we did something fun at our workplace (Grow Your Reader Foundation). We all gathered for what we called an "in-house salt conversation," a chance for everyone to come together and share. Among the exercises, I had the privilege of having a heart-to-heart with Ananya Apu, a colleague I've worked alongside for over a year.
You know, sometimes you think you really know someone, but then a…

Last night, I had a heartfelt chat with Sneha Apu, a fantastic person I met during a past training session.
Sneha Apu is as sweet as the advice she gives. We both shared our challenges and extended kind words to each other.
What made our talk even more special was realizing we were both facing similar hurdles. In no time, we bonded over our shared experiences. After our conversation, I felt a sense of calm wash over me, and a renewed enthusiasm sparked within.
In moments…

The primary objective…

My name is Mariam Atia Azad, and I work at Grow Your Reader Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Bangladesh.
In our drive to achieve success, we often forget what we leave behind when climbing to the top. On the other hand, we can also become too dependent on others to achieve something. This thinking only about oneself or dependency, is where I believe true meaningful development is lost. The ideology of…
