ANCHORING THE ENERGY FOR SUSTAINABLE LOCAL RESPONSE

How communities learn and adapt to old and new challenges

This year’s theme is locally set, and globally explored. 

Through virtual SALT visits to local communities in Kenya, and from the shared experiences of participants in many other places in the world – we will listen to how they have learned from actions in the past and how they have adapted to old and new challenges. The lessons from those experiences will provide us with answers to what the anchors are for sustainable local response. 

An interactive programme

Friday 1 October: ‘Landing’ in Kenya – Getting to know each other – deepening  understanding on SALT through shared learning, content formulation, Global reconnection.

Saturday 2 October: Virtual SALT visits to diverse communities in Kenya who have been responding locally to diverse issues including economic and livelihood development, sustainable women initiated responses, adapting and living with disabilities.

Sunday 3 October: Market Place: Local SALT teams from across the world will present their best practices and lessons learned. Participants go shopping, with their own wisdom as currency. 

Monday 4 October: Weaving Pearls of Wisdom: What have we learned together? How can we use that in our own community and how can we share the lessons with others? 

For who?

The event is rooted in SALT-CLCP – and is linked to The Constellation ways of working. Those who are engaged in local response and community action in their own country, come together, virtually.  Those who are wanting to learn about SALT-CLCP and community action are welcome as well. You can register as an individual, or with your team of 3. Partner organisations are invited to send their teams as well. 

Costs

Participation Fee includes full participation in facilitated interactive events from 1-4 October; access to documentation during and after the event and a unique V-GLF 2021 Participant Package will come your way. 

• Individual participants: 50 Euro
• Local SALT teams (3 persons): 100 Euro
• Organisations (3 person teams): 250 Euro
