Unveiling the Heart of Alokito Shishu through SALT Conversations with Dedicated Volunteers!

Organizing a SALT conversation with the Alokito Shishu team has been a truly enriching experience, etching memories of transformative conversations with my team that will last a lifetime.

I was so excited about my experience of SALT approach that I spent the entire today until 4 pm in the office sharing my experience with the staff and volunteers. They loved what I was sharing. Witnessing the change in their perspectives and understanding has been both humbling and inspiring. It’s a testament to the profound impact that SALT can have on shaping the way people perceive the world.

Reflecting on my past understanding of participation, which involved acquiring projects, assigning tasks, and mentoring the team in execution, I realized how limited I was in terms of participation. The SALT event profoundly influenced me, leaving a lasting impression of the energy, camaraderie, and team spirit it fostered in the GFC SALT event for the ARC initiative. The joy I felt during and after the event lingered throughout the day.

Recognizing the potential transformation it could bring to my organization, I aspire to integrate the SALT approach. I believe it will cultivate a sense of ownership and responsibility among the team, shifting away from their constant reliance on me. In addition, I am eager to become a SALT facilitator, create communication materials, and spread this powerful method within youth networks. The inherent sense of inner peace it brings is remarkable.

As a trainer, in the past, I added multiple tools and energizers for team building, but the results were not as effective. After exposure to SALT, I realized that this is not how can we build relationships. Now. I am determined to try it, confident that introducing SALT to Alokito Shishu will pave the way for successful implementation in our communities.

The Alokito Shishu team's dedication to fostering positive change in communities is evident, and bringing a new addition as a part of this journey has reinforced my belief in the transformative power of storytelling and genuine connections.
