Our Village, Our Dream: Making Bhatpara Green

On June 2, 2026, the community of Bhatpara Basa Line came together for a special SALT session. Neighbors gathered at 5:20 PM to talk about their local issues. They also looked back at the big goals they want to achieve together.

 *Breaking the Ice* 

The evening started with a simple and fun game. Everyone introduced themselves and shared what they ate for lunch. This quick activity brought out lots of smiles. It helped everyone feel relaxed, comfortable, and ready to talk openly.

 *Remembering Our Big Dream*

The most exciting part of the day was when the community revisited their shared dream:

“There will be a safe and healthy environment in our village.”

Everyone began brainstorming ways to make this dream come true. The community came up with two great ideas:

Planting young trees near the primary school, along the streets, and in open spaces.

Cleaning up the local neighborhoods regularly to keep the village tidy.

To turn these words into action, the group made a big decision. They agreed to celebrate World Environment Day on June 5th by organizing a community tree plantation drive!

 *Reflection: What We Learned* 

At the end of the meeting, the group took some time to think about how the day went.

One local woman shared, “We often share stories, but today after sharing my proud story, I felt relaxed.” Another neighbor loved that everyone came together to focus on keeping the environment clean.

For the next meeting, the group decided that everyone should try to arrive right on time. This will give them even more hours to plan their next big projects.

 *Looking Forward*

This session showed that when neighbors listen to each other, great things happen. By choosing to plant trees together, the people of Bhatpara Basa Line are proving that they are ready to work hard for a brighter, greener future.
