My Experience at ARC South Asia Convening 2026 in Pokhara, Nepal

The ARC South Asia Convening 2026 organized by Global Fund for Children took place from 6 May to 9 May in the beautiful city of Pokhara. It was a journey filled with learning, connection, reflection, and unforgettable memories.

On 5 May, six of us from six different organizations of the Bangladesh Cohort started our journey to Pokhara to participate in the convening. This convening became extra special because, for the very first time, four different cohorts came together in one space — Bangladesh Cohort, Saramba Cohort, Mangrove Hills Cohort, and Pyaro Bandhan Cohort. Being surrounded by people from different communities, cultures, and experiences created an atmosphere full of energy and inspiration.

The first day of the convening was deeply meaningful. Through the “Change Station” and gallery walk, we explored the community-level, organizational-level, cohort-level, and personal changes created through ARC work. Walking through each gallery gave us the opportunity to learn about the journeys, challenges, and achievements of different organizations. It was inspiring to see how every organization was creating change in its own unique way.

One of the most impactful parts of the convening was listening to the stories of transformation shared through the SALT approach of ARC. Everyone shared how change started from small conversations, relationships, and actions within their communities. These stories were powerful and emotional, and they taught me that meaningful change grows when people truly listen, appreciate strengths, and work together.

The entire journey was filled with learning. Every session, discussion, and interaction gave me new ideas and perspectives. Beyond the formal sessions, the connections we built with each other made the experience even more beautiful.

The hospitality of the Nepal Saramba Cohort members was unforgettable. Hritu Khanal, Rojina, Prakriti, Niraj, and everyone else were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Even though it was our first time meeting, they made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. It never felt like we were strangers. Their warmth and kindness created a feeling of family among all participants.

To make sure no one felt left out, they organized a wonderful cultural program where everyone participated together. That evening was full of laughter, music, dance, and shared joy. It became one of the most memorable moments of the convening because it brought all of us closer together beyond language and borders.

I would like to express special gratitude to the Global Fund for Children team — Rituu, Nawaz Bhai, Shristi Di, and Indrani Didi — for organizing such a thoughtful and beautiful convening. Their efforts, care, and dedication made the entire experience smooth, meaningful, and inspiring for all of us.

One of the most valuable experiences during the convening was visiting the Nava Janasakti community. Visiting the community gave us the opportunity to learn directly from the people and observe their work closely. What touched me most was their strong unity and self-confidence. The way they supported each other and worked collectively showed the real power of community leadership.

These five days in Nepal passed so quickly that it is hard to believe the convening has already ended. Participants from 21 organizations across four cohorts came together, shared experiences, and learned from one another. The convening reminded me that change becomes stronger when communities connect, listen, and grow together.

For me personally, the ARC South Asia Convening 2026 was not just an event — it was a space of learning, friendship, inspiration, and hope. I returned with new experiences, meaningful connections, and a stronger belief in the power of collective change.

ARC South Asia Convening 2026: আমার অভিজ্ঞতা

ARC South Asia Convening 2026 যা Global Fund for Children এর আয়োজনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়, সেটি ৬ মে থেকে ৯ মে পর্যন্ত নেপালের সুন্দর শহর Pokhara-এ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। পুরো আয়োজনটি ছিল শেখা, সম্পর্ক তৈরি, অভিজ্ঞতা ভাগাভাগি এবং অনুপ্রেরণায় ভরা এক অসাধারণ যাত্রা।

৫ মে আমরা বাংলাদেশ Cohort-এর ৬টি সংগঠন থেকে ৬ জন Pokhara-র উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা শুরু করি। এই convening-এর সবচেয়ে বিশেষ বিষয় ছিল, প্রথমবারের মতো চারটি cohort একসাথে হওয়া— Bangladesh Cohort, Saramba Cohort, Mangrove Hills Cohort এবং Pyaro Bandhan Cohort। ভিন্ন ভিন্ন দেশ, অভিজ্ঞতা ও কমিউনিটির মানুষের সঙ্গে এক জায়গায় যুক্ত হওয়াটা ছিল সত্যিই দারুণ এক অভিজ্ঞতা।

প্রথম দিন “Change Station” এবং gallery walk-এর মাধ্যমে আমরা বিভিন্ন organisation-এর community level, organisation level, cohort level এবং personal level-এর পরিবর্তনগুলো দেখার সুযোগ পাই। প্রতিটি organisation কীভাবে ARC-এর মাধ্যমে পরিবর্তনের গল্প তৈরি করেছে, তা কাছ থেকে জানার সুযোগ হয়েছিল। এটি শুধু অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময়ের জায়গা ছিল না, বরং একে অপরের কাছ থেকে শেখার একটি অসাধারণ মাধ্যম ছিল।

এরপর সবাই ARC-এর SALT approach-এর মাধ্যমে আসা পরিবর্তনের গল্পগুলো শেয়ার করে। প্রত্যেকের গল্পের মধ্যে ছিল সংগ্রাম, পরিবর্তন, সম্পর্ক এবং আশার প্রতিফলন। সেই গল্পগুলো থেকে আমি উপলব্ধি করি যে, ছোট ছোট উদ্যোগ, পারস্পরিক শ্রদ্ধা এবং মানুষের শক্তিকে গুরুত্ব দেওয়ার মাধ্যমেই বড় পরিবর্তন সম্ভব।

পুরো journey জুড়েই ছিল শেখার অসংখ্য সুযোগ। প্রতিটি session, discussion এবং interaction আমাকে নতুনভাবে ভাবতে শিখিয়েছে। শুধু আনুষ্ঠানিক আলোচনা নয়, বরং একসাথে সময় কাটানো, কথা বলা এবং অভিজ্ঞতা ভাগ করে নেওয়ার মধ্যেও ছিল গভীর শিক্ষা।

নেপালের Saramba Cohort-এর Hritu Khanal, Rojina, Prakriti, Nirajসহ সবাই ছিলেন অত্যন্ত welcoming এবং friendly। প্রথমবার দেখা হলেও এক মুহূর্তের জন্যও মনে হয়নি যে আমরা নতুন মানুষদের সঙ্গে আছি। তাদের আন্তরিকতা এবং ভালোবাসা পুরো আয়োজনটিকে আরও সুন্দর করে তুলেছিল।

Convening-এ যেন কেউ boring feel না করে, সে জন্য তারা একটি অসাধারণ cultural programme-এর আয়োজন করেছিল। সেখানে আমরা সবাই অংশগ্রহণ করি। গান, নাচ, আনন্দ এবং একসাথে কাটানো সেই মুহূর্তগুলো পুরো আয়োজনকে আরও প্রাণবন্ত ও স্মরণীয় করে তোলে।

বিশেষভাবে ধন্যবাদ জানাতে চাই Global Fund for Children টিমের Rituu, Nawaz ভাই, Shristi Di এবং Indrani Didi-কে, যারা এত সুন্দর ও অর্থবহ একটি convening আয়োজন করেছেন। তাদের আন্তরিক প্রচেষ্টা এবং যত্নের কারণেই পুরো আয়োজনটি এত সুন্দরভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।

Convening-এর আরেকটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অভিজ্ঞতা ছিল Nava Janasakti community visit। সেখানে গিয়ে তাদের কাজ কাছ থেকে দেখার এবং শেখার সুযোগ হয়েছে। তাদের মধ্যে অসাধারণ unity এবং আত্মবিশ্বাস লক্ষ্য করেছি। তারা যেভাবে একে অপরকে সহযোগিতা করে এবং একসাথে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে, তা সত্যিই অনুপ্রেরণাদায়ক।

নেপালে কাটানো এই ৫ দিন কীভাবে যে শেষ হয়ে গেল, বুঝতেই পারিনি। চারটি cohort-এর ২১টি organisation একসাথে হয়ে একে অপরের কাছ থেকে শেখার সুযোগ পেয়েছি। এই convening আমাকে আবারও মনে করিয়ে দিয়েছে যে, পরিবর্তন তখনই আরও শক্তিশালী হয় যখন মানুষ একসাথে শেখে, একে অপরকে মূল্য দেয় এবং সম্মিলিতভাবে এগিয়ে যায়।

আমার কাছে ARC South Asia Convening 2026 শুধু একটি অনুষ্ঠান ছিল না; এটি ছিল শেখা, বন্ধুত্ব, অনুপ্রেরণা এবং নতুন আশার এক সুন্দর যাত্রা। এখান থেকে আমি নতুন অভিজ্ঞতা, অসাধারণ কিছু সম্পর্ক এবং collective change-এর শক্তির প্রতি আরও গভীর বিশ্বাস নিয়ে ফিরেছি।
