The first step in discussing masculinity at Kewdaha an adibasi village

In a village called Kewndaha, I had a conversation with an old man named Jagai Hansda about masculinity. I first asked him what a man is or what do you mean by a man? He replied that I would first say a man who respects women. If there were no women, no human being would be born, then there is a division according to gender. A man means performing the most difficult duties. Of course, some duties are divided between men and women. He said that our times were not very good. We had to work in the fields all day to provide our family with two meals a day. There were days when we did not eat, we ate the food of our children and wives. We worked hard to clear the gardens, forests and make them suitable for cultivation. And a man has many worries in his head, yet he still does his work.
I asked him again for the second time, what is your opinion about the youth? He said that just as they have cleared the forests and cleared the land suitable for cultivation, the youth also have a responsibility, to perform the duties of the village and keep the village clean. But today's youth are immersed in their own emotions. Now it is our responsibility to support them. When they reach a certain age, they will be ready to take on all kinds of responsibilities. 🙏🙏
In this short time, I have been able to talk to him about masculinity and learn a lot from him. Being a man is truly a blessing. God gave me birth as a man because a man has to perform some important duties for his family or village. Men can endure hardship and work hard. He never even gets time to claim himself as a man.
