“পদ্মফুল দলের জন্মকথা” “The Birth Story of the Padma Phool Team”

গত এক মাসের একটি ছোট্ট যাত্রা শেয়ার করতে চাই আপনাদের সাথে। বিকেল হলেই আমি কয়েকজন ছেলেকে নিয়ে খেলতে বের হতাম। তিন-চারজনের এই ছোট্ট দল থেকেই গল্পের শুরু। খেলতে খেলতে পাশের বাড়ির আরও কয়েকজন তরুণ আগ্রহ নিয়ে আমাদের সাথে যোগ দিল। ধীরে ধীরে দলটা বড় হতে থাকল, আর খেলাধুলার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আমাদের সম্পর্কও আরও গভীর হলো। কেবল খেলা নয়, ছুটির দিনে আমরা একসাথে নদীতে সাঁতার কাটতে যাই, পানিতে লাফিয়ে আনন্দ করি, আর মনের ভেতর জমে থাকা হাসিগুলো ভাগাভাগি করি। সেই মুহূর্তগুলো আমাদের বন্ধনকে করে তোলে আরও দৃঢ়, যেন ভাইয়ের মতো সম্পর্ক। এই ঘনিষ্ঠতার উপর ভর করে আমি তাদের সঙ্গে আলাদা আলাদা করে ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি SALT শুরু করি। অবশেষে গত সপ্তাহে আমরা সাতজন মিলে একটি গ্রুপ  ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি SALT আয়োজন করি। সেই আড্ডায় তারা নিজেরাই তাদের দলের একটি নাম ঠিক করল—“পদ্ম ফুল”। কারণ, তাদের কথায় পদ্ম ফুল যেমন নির্মল আর কোমল, তেমনি তারাও চায় তাদের মন-মানসিকতা হোক তেমন পবিত্র। আর যেহেতু আমাদের গ্রামের বিল-ঝিলে পদ্ম ফুল সহজেই পাওয়া যায়, সবার চোখে সুন্দর লাগে, তাই নামটি তাদের খুব মনে ধরেছে। এখন তাদের স্বপ্ন, নিজেদের ভেতর ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি শিক্ষা চর্চা করা, তারপর সেই শিক্ষা তাদের বন্ধু-বান্ধব ও আশেপাশের মানুষদের মাঝেও ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া। আজ যখন তাদের সঙ্গে সময় কাটাই, তখন বুঝতে পারি এই সম্পর্কটা কতটা সত্যিকারের। ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি শিক্ষা শুরু করার আগে এমন গভীর সম্পর্ক ছিল না। কিন্তু এখন তাদের সাথে থেকে আমি নিজেও উপলব্ধি করতে পারি—পরিবর্তন আসতে শুরু করেছে, আর সেই পরিবর্তনের নামই “পদ্ম ফুল” দল

Over the past month, I have taken several initiatives to build a masculinity team and tried to document the experience in the form of a blog. In the beginning, I started playing sports almost every afternoon with three or four young boys. Seeing our regular games, a couple of other boys from the neighborhood also joined us. I welcomed them into the team, and gradually our group began to grow. With time, we continued playing regularly, and soon a good relationship developed between us. Beyond sports, we also spent joyful moments together during holidays—swimming in the river, diving, and enjoying playful activities.These shared experiences helped strengthen our bond even more. Later, I started engaging them in individual Masculinity SALT sessions. Last week, I organized a group Masculinity SALT with about seven members. In this group session, they decided to name their team “Padma Phool” (Lotus Flower). In their words, just as a lotus is soft yet beautiful, they too wanted their minds to remain pure and gentle. Since lotus flowers are easily found in the ponds and wetlands of our village and are admired for their beauty, the name felt meaningful and fitting to them. During the group SALT, they expressed their determination to use their strengths to transform the “Padma Phool Team” into a strong masculinity team. Their vision is to first practice the healthy masculinity within themselves and then spread the message among their friends and peers. Now, spending time with them feels truly fulfilling. Yet, before beginning masculinity SALT,   I never had such close relationships with them. Being with them has given me a new realization—that meaningful change begins with genuine  connection.

From playing sports to building relationships, and from those relationships to the birth of the “Padma Phool Team” this has truly been a remarkable journey. খেলাধুলা থেকে শুরু করে সম্পর্ক গড়ে ওঠা, তারপর সেই সম্পর্কের ভেতর দিয়ে “পদ্ম ফুল দল”-এর জন্ম ,এটা সত্যিই এক অসাধারণ যাত্রা।
