A short proud story from the life of 40 years old married man who provide and support free tuition for poor village children before Covid19 lockdown emerged.
Hi everyone, I’m Nityam Ghosh. I work with Rural Aid NGO with support from Global Fund for Children is in Alipurduar District, Kalchini Block, State of West Bengal, India. We work in the tea gardens on the issue of trafficking and child labour. We recently started using SALT in our work. Here is story from my SALT visit in blog.
A short story was shared from the life of 40 years old married man who works as a tea garden workers in tea garden of Bhatpara B T.E of Kalchini Block. When we had SALT conversation, he shared one of best proud story from his life that he used to run tuition for the village children from standard of VII to VIII before the covid19 lockdown emerged in his village. During the time of his tuition, the different background of children (either rich or poor families) used to come for studies. Among them, some of children of poor background family could not able to afford for tuition fees to studies, by understanding the family conditions he used to provide and support free tuition for those children earlier days. Currently, he feel so much proud himself after seeing that those children who he used provide free tuition has now are grown up and studies in grade 11-12 and some of others are studies in different colleges. By providing such support to those children, he always thinks himself “out of my many good work, I have earned great blessing from God through this deed”.
His Strengths reflected were;
As results, he feel relieve and happiness by sharing the proud story what he has contributed for studies of poor children in those days through his tuition. He also said that, “he want continue to support those children are willing to studies tuition with him”.
Through this SALT conversation, as I was helping to encourage and reflects his strengths to him, he was so inspired and said to me that “if anyone reflects the positive strengths of ones, definitely it will motive ones to do more such a proud work and enhance to build rapport relationship with them” .
The most wonderful line he said “from the next time will also use this approach with his friends at home”.
From this story, we can also present an example for the community and highlights the strengths of his proud story to the community, how he support village children towards the studies through running tuition without fees for poor children. It also helps us to fulfil the goal of sustainable community.
