We were wrong....but now lo longer; on self assessment

To have JL with us at Manonjaya sub district at West Java Indonesia is one of wonderfull learning for me.
We did self assessment. We were all up set since it was very difficult to see whether community we talked about know and care about adolescent reproductive health (ARH). We reviewed our plan of actions. We did all but how could we assess our progress....SILENT, and I discussed with JL and other visiting facilitators.

OALAA...no need to asses others. No need to see whether community we visited know and care about our issues. The only thing we have to that do we as a person understand and aware about what need to be do to assure that our current knowlegde and practice help youth access information and ARH services?

Suddently we were laughing that we did assessing others not ourself. In short we could revise for sure our plan of action to ensure that we as community member are cognizant and knowledge improved due the respective ARH issues.

To all of you, Rebeka, JL, Chandra, Lulu and Musnaim. Manonjayas proud to learn from you all.

Dear Teh Wiwin,

What we have in West Kalimantan (Pontianak & Singkawang) was also the similar. Most of us did not got a clear understanding of ACP in the first or second meeting. It is the process it self. For me, until now, I'm still learning, I have to. For me even after facilitated a session (which was I ever did before in other place), I always got new lessons learned.

In fact, I got a lot of lesson learned from Manonjaya.
Send my regards to my big family at Manonjaya. I'm happy to be a friend of yours.

Dear Wiwin,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience on your blog. I learn a lot from you.

I learned two things from your blog and please correct me if I misunderstood:
- We have to start with ourselves. Not assess others but see our own vulnerabilities as well.
- We have to start from the knowledge that is already present within us and our community

What was the outcome of your own self-assessment? Was it useful?

Take care

Laurence
