"কমিউনিটির জীবন জীবিকা "
" চুনা "নদীর ওপারে সুন্দরবন , এপারে কমিউনিটি। কমিউনিটির নাম বুড়িগোয়ালিনি জেলেপাড়া। সারাদিন কাজ করে রাতের বেলা কোনো রকম মাথা গোঁজার মতো জায়গা করে নেওয়া। ছেঁড়া ফাটা টিন জীর্ণ শীর্ণ ঘর হালকা বৃষ্টি হলেই রুমের ভেতর পড়ে পানি।

খাওয়ার পানির অভাব। সেখানে কয়েকটি বৃষ্টির পানি সংগ্রহ করার ব্যাবস্তা আছে সীমিত পরিসরে। কিন্তু সেটা পর্যাপ্ত নয়। বর্ষা কালে চলে কিন্তু বর্ষাকাল শেষ হলে তাদের খাওয়ার পানি ক্রয় করে আনতে হয় অনেক দুর থেকে। সেখান থেকে পানি আনতে গেলে পানির দামের চেয়ে ভাড়ার টাকা বেশি লাগে।

কোনো স্বাস্থ্য সম্মত সানিটেশন এর ব্যাবস্তা নেই। আছে শুধু অভাব। অভাব তাড়ানোর জন্য তারা ভোর বেলা থেকে দিনমজুরির কাজ করে আর দুপুরের পর থেকে নদীতে মাছ ধরে। কেউ চলে যায় বনে মধু সংগ্রহ করতে। আবার কেউ শুকনো জ্বালানি কাঠ সংগ্রহ করতে যায়। কারো জীবিকা নির্বাহের একমাত্র মাধ্যম গোলপাতা সংগ্রহ করে বিক্রি করা।

কমিউনিটির পুরুষ মানুষ গুলো শীতের আগমনের আগেই ৬ মাসের জন্য ইটের ভাটায় কাজ করতে চলে যায় যশোর মাগুরা। এভাবেই অবিরাম কঠোর পরিশ্রম করে যাচ্ছে কমিউনিটির সবাই।
কমিউনিটির বেশির ভাগ মানুষ নিরক্ষর। প্রাইমারি স্কুল অনেক দুরে। যে কারণে বাচ্চারা একা একা স্কুলে যাইতে পারে না। আবার মা বাবা সাথে করে নিয়ে গেলে কাজ বন্ধ হয়ে যায়, তখন সংসারই চলে না। এজন্যই বাচ্চারা স্কুলে যাইতে পারে না। এভাবেই নিরক্ষর থেকে যায় বেশির ভাগ মানুষ।
পহেলা বৈশাখ আসলে আমরা সমস্ত দেশ যখন আনন্দে মেতে উঠি তখন তাদের তাড়না করে বেড়ায় ভয় আর আতঙ্কে। ঝড়, বৃষ্টি, জলচ্ছাসসহ বিভিন্ন প্রাকৃতিক দূর্যোগের পরিস্থিতি সামাল দেওয়া লাগবে, সেই চিন্তা ভর করে তাদের।

সবশেষে তাদের রয়েছে প্রকৃতির অপরুপ সৌন্দর্য। আর অশেষ প্রাকৃতিক ভান্ডার সুন্দরবন। আর সেই ভান্ডার পাহারায় আছে সাপ, কুমির এবং রয়েল বেঙ্গল টাইগার। এসব ভয় উপেক্ষা করেও তারা জীবিকার জন্য চলে যায় জঙ্গলে।
এখন জলদস্যুর উপদ্রব অতিরিক্ত বেড়ে গেছে। তাদের ভয়ে অনেকেই জঙ্গলে যাওয়া বন্ধ করে দিছে।
কমিউনিটির লোকজনের রয়েছে অদম্য সাহস। সাহসই তাদের মূল শক্তি।

"Chuna" The Sundarbans are on the other side of the river, the community is on the other side. The name of the community is Burigoalini Jelepara. They work all day and at night they make some kind of place to hide their heads. The house is made of torn and cracked tin, and water falls inside the room even when it rains lightly.
Lack of drinking water. There are a few limited rainwater harvesting facilities. But it is not sufficient. It works during the monsoon season, but when the monsoon season ends, they have to buy drinking water from far away. The rent to bring water from there is more than the price of the water.
There is no sanitary sanitation. There is only poverty. To overcome poverty, they work as daily wage workers from early morning and fish in the river from afternoon. Some go to the forest to collect honey. Others go to collect dry firewood. The only means of livelihood for some is to collect and sell golpata.
The men of the community go to Jessore Magura to work in the brick kiln for 6 months before the arrival of winter. In this way, everyone in the community continues to work hard.
Most of the people in the community are illiterate. The primary school is far away. That is why children cannot go to school alone. Also, if parents take them with them, work stops, and the family cannot function. That is why children cannot go to school. This is how most of the people remain illiterate.
When the first day of Baishakh comes, when we all rejoice, they are haunted by fear and panic. They are overwhelmed by the thought of having to deal with various natural disasters, including storms, rains, and floods.
Finally, they have the unique beauty of nature. And the endless natural treasure of the Sundarbans. And that treasure is guarded by snakes, crocodiles and the Royal Bengal Tiger. Despite these fears, they go to the jungle for a living.
Now the pirates' menace has increased. Many people have stopped going to the jungle due to fear of them.
The people of the community have indomitable courage. Courage is their main strength.
