Rape....When Will the Victim get Justice

Gender-based violence affects millions of women and girls whose lives have been uprooted by conflict and displacement. Rape is used as a weapon of war; women and girls seeking refuge are often coerced into sex in exchange for food or safe passage. Forcing women or girls to submit to sexual acts has been described as a form of gender-based violence against women. Reports say that rape causes severe physical and psychological pain and suffering. Rape also can have serious physical, psychological and reproductive consequences for the victims, including death, unwanted pregnancies, complications in childbirth, and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS.

Alot of our Women are being traffic to other countries, after promising them a better living abroad. Yesterday i was watching news, in the news some girls were deported from egypt for prostitution.

I have heard several rape cases, some are even my close friend. It so difficult passing through such experience.

How can we help to Stop rape cases in our society?How can we help the affected?

lets think an entry point to this discussion in community discussions

My experience in kithituni a local community which has really demostrated response ,but to different concerns eg Hiv/Aids ,Orphans and vulnerable children.People will definately take charge of any situation at their hands and find a solution

As afacilitator you only need to stimulate a discussion around this and the community around you will shape the rest .

I would really want to hear the results .
