My Kerala Experience....... Two women called Mini....

Recently I was in a workshop along with Bobby in Kerala.. we were doing a self assesment.... My experience with two women on two different days...touched my heart.

Both are called Mini a very common name in Kerala.... One woman is a local leader in her late thirties and the other one is in her late twenties and a mother of two...
During the self assesment process for Mini who is a leader HIV was a distant problem which doesn't affect her directly....
But we also realised that the Mini who is in her late twenties is a HIV positive and a mother of two. For this lady this is a struggle for justice, existence and a challenge.....
How important it is for us to further the cause of this process and fight for Justice for those who are affected......

Rabi

I know exactly what you mean when you say an experience has 'touched your heart'. I have felt that same sense. I'm wondering what did you do differently as a result of that sense?

Hi Rabi,

The good thing about the interaction was that both the Mini's had decided upon a followup action, after the Self Assessment exercise. How inspiring it is for us, when we see people responding to their situations.

Dear Shelly
The 'Two Mini' experience has captured a real problem in the society here. Though educated (even aware of HIV) people do not see it as a an issue that needs collective attention.
