I am Sneha Farjana, working as a volunteer with Ashirbad community based organisation in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Am about to finish my Master's in English Literature. I attended SALT event on 17th and 18th Nov organized by Global Fund for Children (GFC). I have started using SALT. Here is an example.
One of my close friend's father died about 6/7months. He was the only earning member of his family. After his death my friends family facing some financial problem and my friend become frustrated. Recently I learn about SALT from GFC training. So I would like to take a SALT with her. Because she has a lot in her mind but can not express it somewhere as everybody want to speak more than they listen. She want to share it with someone and need someone's support in what she wanted. So I had a SALT conversation with her.
As SALT make a way for people to open up and share what going through and what is disturbing them. My friend share with me what she had done till now in her life. After talking to me she was so motivated about her strength and ability to take stand with her family as an earning member. and she decided to never give up in any situation and tries her best contributing in her family. She said to me that after the conversation she realized her ability and convinced herself to do something for her family.
SALT conversation is a process to realize once own strength by telling about their good works.Everyone has something to say but no one listening them so attentively. When I want to listen my friend's story she feel special that she have one to listen her, so she opens her up.
