Connecting local responses around the world
Salt is a community empowering technique to motivate communities to solve their problems on their own and sustain their efforts.
...as a succesor and an integral part of this approach, Knowledge fair is a platform for sharing the experiences across the community irrespective of their gender and sects.
Salt being a process of shared goals and shared responsibilties as per the strength of individual in a group, ensures the voice of each mouth.
In an event of KF, all the individuals irrespective of their gender and sect get a chance to speak, stimulate, appreciate, listen and transfer the experiences.
The experience when shared across the gender by individuals from all genders serves as a rich source of information which eventually inspires them.
The knowledge fair acts as a tool for knowledge management without any barriers of its usage. For example any knowlege managemnt system synthesizes, generates, preserves, transmits and reuses the information. And there are barriers in its usage mainly at transmission level and reusing it. In such a set up which includes voices of all genders the knowledge is directly transferred from and imbibed through people of similar communities. Such set up signifies the theory of identity where the recepient identifies one self with the source of information which ultimately helps in better grasping the knowledge and higher motivation to adopt, and practise it.
Self assesment serves as a strong tool for information generation and synthesis. Being a tool which is self reported by each individual in community and considers the voice of each gender in the collective assessment of community, this tool plays a major role in KMS by forming an important component of knowledge genration and its synthesis.
Further the assessment results gets transfered through knowledge fair and other modes of dissemination.
In short self assessment tool and knowledge fair form two important component of knowledge management system that is knowledge generation and its transmission.
Both these tools are powerful in breaking gender discrimination. Where each tool gives an opportunity to generate and share rich knowledge across the genders and by individual of all the genders.
