As we are preparing our SALT visit, and exchanging inspiration on the Forum of the online SALT facilitator course, this poem came to mind:

"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase "each other" doesn't make any sense."

Is this not a Rumi poem :) ? I love it dearly :) <3
Thanks very much for sharing the process you used!

I recently came across this resource in Barefoot Guide which I really want to try out: it's about tapping into the "inside story": our "feelings, unspoken thoughts, assumptions, energy, relationships, metaphors" ... To help us as individuals and communities dig deeper into why this moment was momentous :) - and make sense of the process that is unfolding for us.

Fantastic Birgitta. Please would you have the process you used for story telling?

Excellent question, Rituu! The answer is SALT, and more specifically: story telling.

We had a learning festival with 30 participants: SALT facilitators and their colleagues at the Dutch Council for Refugees. Most of the facilitators have a history of seeking asylum themselves.

During this learning festival, the facilitators shared stories with their colleagues of their experiences in guiding groups of status holders (refugees with a permit to stay for at least 5 yrs) through the CLC-process. People working in this organisation (like in any other similar organisation in the Netherlands) are used to having meetings to discuss matters. The usual thing is to exchange views and substantiate your views by offering arguments.

The learning festival where people INSPIRE each other instead of DISCUSS matters was a very different experience for them. Sharing personal stories created an atmosphere of deep listening, respect, curiosity and authenticity.

Hi Birgitta, what in your experience creates the field beyond right and wrong? Thanks
