Connecting local responses around the world
Begenning of Jully, I had a week of reconnexion with members of my team. And reconnexion to the essence of what make me an active member of this human network of people seeking to live in harmony with their environment and people around them.
I'm trained as facilitator of local response since 2013. In my training I learned that the best facilitators are local facilitators.
Trainer, facilitator, member of the coordination team of the local team in Belgium (BelCompetence), member of the Global support team, but ....
We can say, this is all the various opportunities I have to practice SALT and facilitate local responses around me! Yes, and no!
During this week in the Netherland, between Ejsen, Maastricht and Amsterdam, I was able to highlight some incoherence between what I believe in, what I tell to others and what I do!
My profond aspiration in this life is to contribute with all my potentials to build peace and harmony between people.
During all my studies I dreamed big: International peace building through it's legal and social dimension. My professional experience, made me realise the legal dimension, although necessary, was not sufficient and especially that my role at this stage in my life was more to listen and live the experience through the relationship with other.
Then I met Jean-Louis and with him the Constellation, SALT and BelCompetence. I adopted SALT and made it my job.
I love being in contact with groups, learn from them and support the transformation that occure when people share authentically about their dream and use their inner strength to strengthen the group capacities.
Since the meeting with Jolanda, Mireille and Isis, a group of volunteer of the neighborhood of Ijburg, I realise that I have done many things to achieve my dream but I missed a really simple action to move toward the level 5 as facililitor of local responses.
We asked them what motivate you to do that? What is the driving force that give you the motivation to come here and create links between people within the neighborhood, as a volunteer?
The answer was simple - "I do what seems good to me and for others"
Jolanda is a facilitator, a coach, a mom, a neighbor and a volunteer.
Listening to her story, to the "why" she engage herself in this life to be an active citizens... I took a slap in the face!
"Why I do that? Because it come from the heart" - Mireille said. "I walk the talk, I'm facilitating, coaching others, talk about diversity and empowerment . I'm looking for a certain kind of coherence" have said Jolanda.
I felt so connected to Jolanda, Mireille and Isiz stories, that I could see myself in their says, but also realising that I was not yet "walking the talk" and "coherent".
In front of me, I had an image of myself! I'm not at the level 5 as a facilitator!
I don't even know the name of my neighbors!
I came to Eijsen with the desire to reconnect, to get energy and alignement with my community. And I took the train back to Brussels with all of that and even more. I get a new stage of consciousness about the role of a faciliator of local response.
Now, I know that, before everything else, facilitator of local responses is a citizen in action who accompanies his peers through their path.
To achieve an other level as facilitator, I have to become a citizen in my own neighborhood and community. It's my engagement to achieve my dream for a peace and harmony.
The first step will be to start to meet my neighbor!
I get some advice from facilitators of the Refugees center...
... Now let's prepare a cake to offer to my neighbor!
Stay tuned for the progress ...
