An earnest appeal !!!

Dear All,

A highly objectionable public notice about an HIV infected person has appeared on page 5

in MIDDAY newspaper (Mumbai edition) of 15th May,10

A 'responsible' newspaper of Mumbai, Midday has acted in utter bad taste and has evinced unsound judgement ,the moment it was decided by them to print(WITH PHOTOGRAPH !!!) such a public notice about a reported HIV person mentioning his name,address and a photograph with a notice amounting to "Beware'" of him or sort.

We all feel very strongly about the issue and as enlightened global citizens/HIV programme implementers /community struggling to fight the second epidemic of stigma and discrimination,

we must take appropriate action and ,inter alia,voice our concern to the newpaper by sending

a feedback at http://www.mid- day.com// contact.htm

There has to be ZERO TOLERANCE to any such (even if inadvertent) acts of commission.
