   "বাঘ কুমিরের চেয়ে ও ভয়ংকর মানুষ রুপি বনদস্যু।"

অনেক দিন থেকে চেষ্টা করছি, আমি জেলেদের সঙ্গে সুন্দরবনে ভেতরের জঙ্গলে  মাছ ধরতে যাবো। কিন্তু তাদের সাথে সম্পর্ক তেমন ঘনিষ্ঠ হওয়ার আগেই উৎপাত বেড়ে গেলো বনদস্যুর।  এখান কার জেলেপাড়ার মানুষের জীবিকা নির্বাহের একমাত্র উৎস ছিলো সুন্দর বন।

কিন্তু বৈষম্য বিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনে সরকার পরিবর্তনের   পর থেকে জঙ্গলে বেড়ে গেছে  বাঘ কুমিরের চেয়ে ভয়ংকর মানুষ রুপি বনদস্যু।  এখন কেউ জঙ্গলে গেলেই বনদস্যুরা তাকে অপহরণ করে। এবং শুরু করে শারীরিক তর্চাল, নির্মম নির্যাতন।

এভাবে তাদেরকে জিম্মি করে বলে ফ্যামিলির লোকের সাথে কথা বলতে।  ৫০০০০/= হাজার টাকা না দিলে তাদেরকে মেরে ফেলার হুমকি দেয়। তারপর ও কেউ কেউ সাহস দেখিয়ে যেতে চাইলে ও তাদেরকে সম্মুখীন হতে হচ্ছে সরকারি লাইসেন্স ধারী  ফরেস্ট অফিসার নামক বনদস্যুর। তাদের ১০০০/= টাকা না দিলে, জঙ্গলে  ভিতরে যাইতে দিবে  না।
এখন জেলেপাড়ার মানুষ গুলো একেবারে অসহায় হয়ে পড়েছে। সুন্দরবনে অনুপ্রবেশের দারপ্রান্তে তাদের পাশের চুনা নদীই এখন তাদের ভরসা। প্রচুর গভীর এবং খরস্রোত হওয়ার কারনে, তাদের সেই জাল দিয়ে এই নদীতে মাছ ধরা যায় না।

তাই বড়শিতে চিংড়ি এবং ছোটো মাছ গেথে টোপ দিয়ে মাছ ধরে।  ১৫০পিচ বড়শি ফেললে ১০০/৯০ পিচ মাছ ধরা পড়ে।
আমি আমার আগের ব্লগে বলছিলাম এবার সুন্দরবনের ভেতরের বাস্তব চিত্র তুলে ধরবো  কিন্তু পারলাম না।
ডিজিটাল যুগে এসেও এখানে চলছে বর্বর যুগের রাজ্যত্য। জোর যার মুল্লুক তার।

I  have been trying for a long time to go fishing with the fishermen in the inner jungle of the Sundarbans. But before I could get close to them, the trouble of the forest robbers increased. The only source of livelihood for the people of the fishing village here was the beautiful forest.

But since the change of government in the student movement against discrimination, bandits, more dangerous than tigers and crocodiles, have increased in the jungle. Now, whenever someone goes to the jungle, bandits kidnap them. And start physically abusing them, brutally torturing them.

In this way, they are held hostage and told to talk to their family members. They threaten to kill them if they do not pay 50,000/= thousand taka. Then, when some of them show courage and want to leave, they have to face a forest robber called a forest officer holding a government license. If they do not pay 1000/= taka, they will not be allowed to enter the Forest.
Now the people of Jelepara are completely helpless. Their only hope is the nearby Chuna River, which is on the verge of encroachment into the Sundarbans. Due to its deep and rough current, they cannot catch fish in this river with their nets.So, I catch fish by putting shrimp and small fish in a big hook and using bait. If I cast a 150-pitch hook, I catch 100/90 pitch fish. I was saying in my previous blog that I would now portray the real picture of the Sundarbans, but I couldn't. Even in the digital age, the barbaric era is still going on here. Whoever has the power, has the power.
