When thinking about the practices towards their dream for a Happy Green Islands, what came up first for the team of the Institute for Early Childhood Education (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini, PAUD) was: “To spread the green virus, we have to grow seeds in our children.” The volunteer teachers from the preschool in Haria have already started their small feasible actions. In their school art is taught through making flowers from plastic and outside on the terrace, vegetables are grown in plastic jars found during clean up actions.

The teachers also find it important that children are aware of their rich culture and traditions, which‒when well applied‒can be their reference for saving their environment. Happy was the meeting with colleague students from Paso (Ambon island) this month, where children in traditional clothes carried out the traditional war dance cakalele.
