Go Girl Ghana (GGG) organization (active since 2015) reaches out to 10 communities in the district of Awutu Senya in the Central Region of Ghana. GGG main concerns are the reduction of teenage pregnancy and school dropouts. Therefore, their current actions are: home visits, mothers’ clubs, girls’ clubs, family sensitization on health/education, material support to families…
GGG's main hope is to progressively engage the community in these concerns, involving them as active actors of their own issues through the SALT approach. For three months, community teams, formed by volunteers and community nurses (facilitators) have been reaching out homes using SALT elements that have positively contributed to their work.
In March 2018, Constellation’s facilitators, Carmen Rivera and Onesmus Mutuku, visited Go Girl Ghana (GGG) to introduce the SALT approach to the GGG team; during a three-day event, the team learned about the first steps of CLC Process: Who are we? Where do we want to go? (Dream building). Since March, community teams have experienced many changes, have gathered lessons, and have encountered new challenges. Therefore, in this second visit (June 2018), GGG was introduced to the creation of community dream practices and to self-assessment (Where are we now?) as well as experienced ways to learn and share between communities their own key learnings and challenges.
