There is growing connection between organizations responding to HIV in Kenya. With the increased number of AIDS competence coaches in the country and the ongoing GLIA experience, the vision and dream for a Kenya competence group emerged.

Dear Zoneziwoh,
Welcome to the Kenya group! You may connect with different team members- Onesmus, Meble, April and all other dear Kenyan friends. Would you like to share more about your connection with Kenya?
Its been a delight to recently introduce two young Kenyan friends- Raphael and Ann Njeri to this group. Raphael works with youth and Ann is just setting up her own NGO and is very keen to apply Community life competence approach in her work.
Another inspiring young woman has been Akiko who is from Japan and has found her second home in Kenya.
I end with an interesting and warm person- Anne Babcok who shared that she lived in Kenya some years ago. She is currently based in UK and her dream is to live in Kenya.
Welcome, my friends to this group from whom personally and professionally I have learned a great deal. You might find another group of interest on 'India Kenya learning together' on Truckers and HIV

Hi friends, I know that you are going through Blended Learning as a team. Gaston shared what he learned about BL in Guyana on his blog: http://aidscompetence.ning.com/profiles/blogs/blended-learning-in-g...
All the best
April,
Happy New Year!!!!
Iam glad to hear of what is happening at Kithituni.
It good when people work together as a group. There is a lot that can be done by a group like that I congratulate this group.
Keep up with them.
Blessings,
Elizabeth
Thanks April indeed after the the salt visit at Kithituni ----Dorcas beads women i listened the powerful story --Self assessment tool in use then, something clicked to me Self assessment can be used in in our own Business situation for a strategic planing!!!!.
This was really inspiring!! -------;besides the beads making, and the money, you could see the was general sense of belonging and them being together as a team gave a value to their Lives----a place where they learn share and discover their strengths.
On Saturday, we participated in a SALT visit hosted by Kithituni. Eight partners joined us (IIRR, JICA, District Focal Person for Community Health, Tenwek Hospital Community Development Team, Creco). This was a wonderful day of learning and inspiration from a local response that has been active for over 10 years. I am hoping some of the partners who participated will share their impressions. For me, I saw clearly how an income generating activity (small business) can fully integrate the ACP/Life Competence Process. We heard as women making recycled beads shared their vision, showed us their self-assessments for the past 2 years and their plans to reach their dream. We also heard and participated in home visits that are connected to this business, so that women are not only seen as producers of products, but as mothers, daughters, family and community members who have concerns but also strengths to respond and influence change in their homes and the wider neighbourhood.
We are committed to offering regular SALT visits, hosted by a variety of different organisations in Kenya over the coming year, so watch this space!
April
