There is growing connection between organizations responding to HIV in Kenya. With the increased number of AIDS competence coaches in the country and the ongoing GLIA experience, the vision and dream for a Kenya competence group emerged.

Charles Esbikhwa Edward, I found the links you shared about the Democracy conference at the Hekima institute six years ago (I missed them at that time) very interesting. Tobias Dindi Ong'aria: "a story of a nation can never be confined to a few individuals." (Inclusion as a prerequisite for democracy).
Thank you for sharing those links.
Hi Moses Okombo Ayany and Charles Esbikhwa Edward, it's been almost six years that we wrote about Deep Democracy.... I am so sorry that I missed your replies.... Max and Ellen Schupbach will be teaching in Nairobi again from October 9th till October 15th at the Desmond Tutu Conference Center. On Friday Oct 13th (6-8 EAT) they will host an Open Forum (free from charge I think) that is open to the public, focusing on intergenerational relationships, post-colonial influences, precolonial values and more. Contact Laura Grassi for more information, lauretta.grassi (at) gmail.com, Birthing our Future seminar
@BirgMax and Ellen Schupbach, I would be more than willing to meet Max and Ellen Schupbach so that we share and learn from each other. Moses from Kenya.
Hi Birgitta Schomaker am happy to know that you are doing something on deep democracy.Am a student of human sustainable development at Tangaza University College and just last week on Thursday we held the 5th Annual STUDENT-LED CONFERENCE on Democracy in Africa at Hekima Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations. In this conference we presented papers on Democracy in Africa and Kenya to be precise. The theme of the forum was "EVOLUTION OF DEMOCRACY IN AFRICA".Though we were discussion about 'classical' democracy,a lot came up which included some discussions on Deep Democracy. Please here are some links on the videos from the forum and feel free to contact me when you are around so that we can share more information on the same.

Hi you all, two teachers of mine are visiting Kenya regularly to run Deep Democracy workshops and events on conflict resolution. I'm sure it would be interesting for SALT facilitators to meet them when they come next time. I can imagine you would have a mutually inspiring conversation. Who would be interested in meeting them? Their names are Max and Ellen Schupbach.

The kids realized that they all have strengths and great potential. They also acknowledged that no one is a nobody and that every one of them was somebody. They also learned about appreciating and encouraging each other in everything.
Parents are reporting improved relationship and discipline among the children. Willingness to give a helping hand and respect of other children. What a powerful tool!
