Dear Coaches,

Thanks for those who have come back to me already on their intended date for submission of their Coaches Reconfirmation, 2010. I hope to hear from others soon as well!

This message is to bring to your careful attention the next steps in
nominating new Constellation Coaches. Many champions whom we have been
working with in various projects in the past 2 years are waiting in the
wings! Let's include them now.

Please can all of you scan your environment for potential coaches and start their nomination process?

(A Constellation Coach can accompany communities in their local response, by applying the Community Life Competence Process, and he/she can transfer that ability to a new group of facilitators).


Below this message you find a reminder of the steps of the updated nomination process. I am attaching herewith the default invitation letter for candidate coaches and its attachments.

I will be more then happy to support at any stage of the process.

Nomination Process Constellation Coaches:

Step 1: Exploration

Each coach constantly scans his/her own environment for potential coaches and explores potential coaches with a second coach. Together they decide on the invitation. Principle: at least one of the two coaches has worked intensively on the Community Life Competence Process with the potential coach; the second coach, who comes from a different organisation - has seen the candidate at work. Both coaches commit to mentor the coaches they recommend during the application process as well as during activities as a coach.


Step 2: Invitation


The inviting coach sends the default invitation message to the potential coach - with (a) ‘Statement Candidate Coach’ and (b) ‘Facilitator’s self-assessment’ as attachments to the invitation.


The inviting coach mentions the name of the coach seconding the invitation in the invitation message. The seconding coach and the manager Constellation Support Team, Marlou de Rouw, are cc-ed on this message.
The latter will ensure that the potential coach is invited to
the Constellations interactive platform.



The two inviting coaches join the facilitators’ self-assessment by the candidate, face to face when possible, through distance communication otherwise. The team will also discuss on which practices the coach aims to improve in the coming 12 months and how he/she plans to do that (‘personal development plan’).  The modules of the Constellation’s Blended learning platform can serve as resource for implementation of the personal development plans.


Step 3: Application


The potential coach applies by sending an email to the inviting coach, together with (1) the filled in “Statement Coach” and  (2)“facilitator’s self-assessment”, including the personal development plan.


Step 4: Nomination


The inviting coach nominates the potential coach by sending an email to Marlou  de
Rouw, (
Marlou@communitylifecompetence.org) -who is delegated by the board for daily management of the ConstellationSupport Team- with the Coach’s Application and ‘Facilitator’s self-assessment’ as attachments.


Step 5: Announcement


On every first and third Monday of the month Marlou announces newly nominated coaches on the Coaches Group of the Constellation’s Interactive platform. The two submitted documents will be posted on the publicly available Constellation Library on the blended learning platform.


Step 6: Objection


During 2 weeks all coaches have the right to object to nominations. They can do so by posting their objection of the Coaches Group of the Constellation’s Interactive platform or by sending an email to Marlou@communitylifecompetence.org. In case of objection of any of the existing coaches, the Board of the Constellation will decide within 2 weeks on
the acceptance of the nomination.


Step 7: Welcoming


If no objections are expressed, the potential coach becomes Coach. Marlou sends a welcome message to the new coach, with background information on next steps (every second and fourth Monday of the month). CST sends out invitations to the relevant platforms.
