অনেকদিন ধরেই কমিউনিটির একটি স্বপ্ন ছিল—নিজেদের কমিউনিটিতে গাছ লাগিয়ে সবুজে ঘেরা একটি সুন্দর পরিবেশ তৈরি করা। ড্রিম বিল্ডিং সেশনে সেই স্বপ্নটি আরও স্পষ্ট হয়ে ওঠে। কিন্তু দীর্ঘদিন বন্যার পানি জমে থাকায় তারা তখন বৃক্ষরোপণ শুরু করতে পারেনি।এখন সময় ও আবহাওয়া উপযুক্ত হওয়ায়, কমিউনিটির মানুষজন নিজেরাই উদ্যোগ নিয়ে সেই স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়নে নেমে পড়েছেন। একসাথে তারা বিভিন্ন স্থানে গাছ লাগানো শুরু করেছেন। তাদের বিশ্বাস, আজকের এই ছোট্ট চারাগুলো একদিন বড় হয়ে তাদের এলাকা করবে আরও সুন্দর ও প্রাণবন্ত।কমিউনিটি বিশেষভাবে এমন কিছু গাছ নির্বাচন করেছে, যা তাদের পরিবেশ ও প্রতিকূল আবহাওয়ায় সহায়ক:

তালগাছ: এই গাছ দ্রুত ছায়া দেয় এবং স্থানীয় প্রাণীর আশ্রয়স্থল হয়।
নারিকেল গাছ: শক্তিশালী মাটিতে ভালো বৃদ্ধি পায়, এবং কমিউনিটির জন্য পুষ্টিকর ফল দেয়।
সুপারি গাছ: দীর্ঘস্থায়ী এবং মাটির ক্ষয় রোধে সহায়ক।
খেজুর গাছ: প্রতিকূল আবহাওয়া ও লবণাক্ত মাটিতে বেঁচে থাকার ক্ষমতা রাখে, যা স্থানীয় মানুষের জন্য খাবার ও আয় উভয়েই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

লবণাক্ত মাটিতে উপযুক্ত অন্যান্য গাছ: এমন গাছগুলো মাটির উর্বরতা বাড়ায়, ক্ষয় রোধ করে এবং পরিবেশকে টেকসই রাখে।এছাড়া তাদের ঘরবাড়ি রশি দিয়ে গাছের সাথে বেঁধে রক্ষা করতে পারেন।

আমি এই যাত্রায় তাদের পাশে ছিলাম—নেতৃত্ব দিতে নয়, বরং তাদের উদ্যোগ ও আনন্দের সাক্ষী হতে। এই অভিজ্ঞতা আবারও মনে করিয়ে দিল, যখন মানুষ নিজেদের স্বপ্নকে নিজেদের দায়িত্ব মনে করে, তখন সেই স্বপ্ন সত্যিই বাস্তব রূপ পায়।

Turning Dreams into Reality: The Community Tree-Planting Initiative

For a long time, the community had a dream—to create a green, vibrant environment in their neighborhood by planting trees. This dream became even clearer during the Dream Building session. However, due to prolonged flooding, they couldn’t start planting at that time.Now, with the right season and weather, the community members have taken the initiative into their own hands. Together, they have started planting trees in various areas, believing that today’s small saplings will one day grow into tall, flourishing trees that will make their surroundings even more beautiful and lively.The community has thoughtfully chosen trees that are well-suited to their environment and challenging conditions:

Palm trees: Provide quick shade and serve as a habitat for local wildlife.
Coconut trees: Thrive in strong soil and offer nutritious fruit for the community.
Betel nut trees: Long-lasting and help prevent soil erosion.
Date palms: Can withstand harsh weather and salty soil, providing both food and income for local families.
Other salt-tolerant trees: Enhance soil fertility, prevent erosion, and contribute to a sustainable environment.

I had the privilege of witnessing this journey—not to lead, but to observe their enthusiasm and joy. This experience reminded me once again that when people take responsibility for their own dreams, those dreams truly come to life.
