Do you work with youth as social change agents?

A group of Colombian youth is trying to extract themselves from the country’s rampant guerilla movement. A set of American youth has spent a year discussing the impact of abuse in relationships to become champions of social change. Imagine these and other groups of youth worldwide having a conversation about their sources of resilience, survival and thriving in the face of trauma, adversity and challenge. http://www.axiomnews.ca/node/2719

If you work with youth as social change agents in their communities, or in developing intergenerational partnerships for social change, let's start a discussion!

Would it be useful to connect youth doing work around really challenging issues in their communities, and to be able to lift up these stories of how they’re creating positive change?

Not only could this be a space for them to live into a new role as social change agents, but imagine the transformation that could happen through the broader community beginning to see even those typically labelled as troubled as significant contributors of positive energy, wisdom and change.

I look forward to discussion about ways youth and intergenerational partnerships are creating positive changes in their communities!

Here is a response fro Geeta based in UK. Thanks Geeta!

Geeta Bandi-Phillips Rituu Competence - it is largely an unexplored area. Everyone talks about youth as agents of social change but very few give them a voice. Anything that is in the right direction should be applauded and encouraged.
