Sometimes big changes in the community start with a small task. The power of positive change lies in feeling human suffering as one's own pain and standing by the side in times of need. This story of the Pechakola Youth Team is one such story of change.

A portion of the road in front of the market of Pechakola Community is steep. Van drivers and traders have to struggle at this place every day to fetch water from the river and deliver milk from local dairy farms to the market. Pushing the van with a heavy load is a big challenge for them.

Once upon a time, the youth of the community chatted beside the market, but did not consider these problems as their own. They thought it was someone else's responsibility to solve these problems. As a result, van drivers or traders crossed the sloping road with difficulty, but they usually did not come forward and cooperate.

Later, through a group SALT discussion, they had the opportunity to think anew about their strengths, capabilities, and responsibility to the community. In the discussion, they realize that the community is their own, so it is their responsibility to solve the problems of the community. They understand that change doesn't always require a big initiative; Even small contributions can make a positive difference in people's lives.

From this realization, now whenever a van driver or businessman has trouble crossing the sloping road, the members of the Pechacola Youth Team come forward and cooperate. They are using their physical energy and time to alleviate people's suffering. This initiative is not just about pushing a van, but an expression of responsibility, empathy, and positive masculinity.

There has been a positive change in the Pechakola youth after discovering their own strengths and abilities through SALT. They now don't just discuss the problem, but want to be part of the solution. Besides river safety awareness, cleanliness activities and various social initiatives, they are also coming forward to solve the small problems of people's daily lives.

Their journey shows that positive masculinity is not just about being strong but about using that power responsibly, standing up for people and contributing to the development of the community. Change doesn't always start with a big job. Sometimes, a helping hand, a responsible decision or a small initiative can make a big difference. Today, the Pechakola Youth Team is a shining example of that change.

অনেক সময় কমিউনিটির বড় পরিবর্তনগুলো শুরু হয় খুব ছোট একটি কাজ থেকে। মানুষের কষ্টকে নিজের কষ্ট হিসেবে অনুভব করা এবং প্রয়োজনের সময় পাশে দাঁড়ানোর মধ্যেই লুকিয়ে থাকে ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তনের শক্তি। পেচাঁকোলা ইয়ুথ টিমের এই গল্প তেমনই একটি পরিবর্তনের গল্প।

পেচাঁকোলা কমিউনিটির বাজারের সামনে রাস্তার একটি অংশ অনেকটা ঢালু। প্রতিদিন নদী থেকে পানি আনা এবং স্থানীয় দুগ্ধ খামারের দুধ বাজারে পৌঁছে দেওয়ার সময় ভ্যানচালক ও ব্যবসায়ীদের এই জায়গাটিতে বেশ কষ্ট করতে হয়। ভারী বোঝা নিয়ে ভ্যানটি ঠেলে উপরে উঠানো তাদের জন্য একটি বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ।

একসময় কমিউনিটির তরুণরা বাজারের পাশে আড্ডা দিলেও এসব সমস্যাকে নিজেদের বিষয় বলে মনে করত না। তারা ভাবত, এসব সমস্যা সমাধানের দায়িত্ব অন্য কারও। ফলে ভ্যানচালক বা ব্যবসায়ীরা কষ্ট করে ঢালু রাস্তা পার হলেও তারা সাধারণত এগিয়ে এসে সহযোগিতা করত না।

পরবর্তীতে একটি গ্রুপ SALT আলোচনার মাধ্যমে তারা নিজেদের শক্তি, সক্ষমতা এবং কমিউনিটির প্রতি দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে নতুনভাবে ভাবার সুযোগ পায়। আলোচনায় তারা উপলব্ধি করে যে কমিউনিটি তাদের নিজের, তাই কমিউনিটির সমস্যা সমাধানের দায়িত্বও তাদের। তারা বুঝতে পারে, পরিবর্তনের জন্য সবসময় বড় কোনো উদ্যোগের প্রয়োজন হয় না; ছোট ছোট সহযোগিতাও মানুষের জীবনে ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তন আনতে পারে।
