Awakening the Community: Our CLCP & Salt Orientation

On December 26, 2025, Kopila Nepal successfully conducted the official orientation of the Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) alongside the SALT approach. The session brought together a diverse and vibrant group of participants, including community members, mothers' groups, youth, local stakeholders, and government representatives.

For many participants, these concepts were entirely new. However, as the session went on and the team shared the purpose and vision behind their work, the atmosphere began to transform. What started as a simple introduction gradually evolved into an engaging and meaningful dialogue. Participants listened with curiosity, actively engaged in discussions, and responded with interactive dialogue.

The Community Remembers Its Own Strength

One of the most powerful aspects of the day emerged during the reflection session. As conversations deepened, community members began revisiting their past recalling a time when external support was minimal, yet unity and collective action were at their strongest.

They spoke about how challenges were once addressed together without delay. Whether it was building a water well or maintaining a chautara,(a traditional resting place) every household contributed. These shared efforts were not just about solving problems they were about strengthening relationships and building a sense of belonging.

One participant captured this sentiment beautifully:

We have a beautiful community. In the past, if there was a problem whether it was a water well,Roads or a chautara(a Traditional resting place) every family would come forward. We worked together, shared jokes during work prepare a snacks togetherly and eat it togetherly, and got things done. Those moments built our bonds. Now, we just wait for a budget from the government or an NGO for this works and no one come forward to lead.

This heartfelt reflection resonated deeply with everyone present. It served as a powerful reminder that the spirit of unity and self reliance has not disappeared it has simply become quieter over time, waiting to be awakened once again.

Voices of Support from Stakeholders and Government

The dialogue was further enriched by the insights of local stakeholders and government representatives. They acknowledged a noticeable shift in community dynamics over the years from strong local initiative to increasing dependency on external support.

Recognizing this change, they emphasized that approaches like CLCP and SALT are not only relevant but essential in today’s context. Their support reflected a shared belief that sustainable and lasting change must come from within the community itself.

Moving Forward with Renewed Energy

The encouragement and active participation from community members, stakeholders, and officials left a lasting impression on the Kopila Nepal team. The day became more than just an orientation it turned into a moment of reflection, reconnection, and renewed purpose.

With strengthened motivation, the team is committed to continuing this journey walking alongside communities as they rediscover their strengths, rebuild connections, and take ownership of their development.

This Is Just the Beginning

The CLCP orientation marked the beginning of a promising and transformative journey. As communities start to reflect, reconnect, and re engage, the path forward becomes clearer.

The energy has been started. Voices have been heard. And the journey has begun.

Kopila Nepal moves forward with hope, collaboration, and a strong belief in the power that already exists within every community.
