কুশিকাটায় গাঁথা স্বপ্ন: SALT-এর আলোয় নিলুফা খাতুনের আত্মনির্ভরতার যাত্রা ।

পেঁচাকোলা কমিউনিটির পদ্মা গ্রুপে সম্প্রতি একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়—কিভাবে কুশিকাটার কাজ করে অনলাইনে বিক্রি করা যায়। এই আলোচনায় পদ্মা গ্রুপের দুই দক্ষ সদস্য, স্বপ্না আপা ও আঁখি, তাঁদের অভিজ্ঞতা শেয়ার করেন। কুশিকাটার কাজে বিশেষ পারদর্শী আঁখি শুধু নিজে কাজ করেই থেমে থাকেননি, তিনি কমিউনিটির অন্য সদস্যদেরও এই কাজ শেখাতে এগিয়ে আসেন।
এই পদ্মা দলের একজন সদস্য হলেন নিলুফা খাতুন। নিলুফা নবম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী। শান্ত, ভদ্র এবং দায়িত্বশীল এই মেয়েটি পড়ালেখার পাশাপাশি মায়ের কাজে সাহায্য করে, ছোট ভাইবোনদের দেখাশোনা করে। পরিবারের দায়িত্বের মাঝেও তার সৃজনশীলতা চোখে পড়ার মতো।
আঁখির কাছ থেকে কুশিকাটার কাজ শিখে নিলুফা নিজ উদ্যোগে পাঁচটি গোসলের গা মাজুনি তৈরি করে। নিজের হাতে তৈরি করা এই কাজের কথা বলতে গিয়ে নিলুফার চোখে-মুখে ছিল গর্ব আর আনন্দ। সে বাজার থেকে মাত্র ১০০ টাকার সুতা কিনে এনেছিল। এই সুতা দিয়েই সে পাঁচটি গা মাজুনি বানিয়েছে, আর অবশিষ্ট সুতা দিয়ে আরও পাঁচটি গা মাজুনি বানানো সম্ভব।

সবচেয়ে আনন্দের বিষয়, নিলুফা এর মধ্যেই দুইটি গা মাজুনি বিক্রি করেছে ৪০ টাকায়—প্রতি পিস ২০ টাকা করে। নিজের তৈরি জিনিস বিক্রি করতে পেরে নিলুফা ভীষণ খুশি। সে বলে,
“আমি যদি এভাবে কুশিকাটার কাজ করে গা মাজুনি বিক্রি করতে পারি, তাহলে আমি আমার পড়ালেখার খরচ নিজেই চালিয়ে যেতে পারবো।”
নিলুফার স্বপ্ন এখানেই শেষ নয়। সে আরও বলে,
“আমি যেমন আঁখির কাছ থেকে কাজ শিখে নিজে কিছু করতে পারছি, ঠিক তেমনই আমি চাই অন্যদেরও এই কাজ শেখাতে—যাতে তারাও আমার মতো স্বাবলম্বী হওয়ার স্বপ্ন দেখতে পারে।”
নিলুফার এই গল্প শুধু একটি গা মাজুনি বানানোর গল্প নয়। এটি আত্মবিশ্বাস, শেখা এবং নিজের পায়ে দাঁড়ানোর গল্প। পদ্মা গ্রুপের মতো কমিউনিটি আর আঁখির মতো সহায়ক মানুষের হাত ধরেই নিলুফার মতো অনেক কিশোরীর স্বপ্ন ধীরে ধীরে বাস্তব হয়ে উঠছে।

Recently, an important topic was discussed in the Padma Group of the Penchakola community - how to make Kushikata and sell it online. In this discussion, two skilled members of the Padma Group, Swapna Apa and Ankhi, shared their experiences. Ankhi, who is an expert in Kushikata, did not stop at working on it herself, but also came forward to teach other members of the community this craft.
One of the members of this Padma group is Nilufa Khatun. Nilufa is a ninth-grade student. This calm, polite and responsible girl helps her mother in her work and looks after her younger siblings in addition to her studies. Her creativity is noticeable even amidst her family responsibilities.
After learning Kushikata from Ankhi, Nilufa made five bath mats on her own initiative. While talking about this craft that she made with her own hands, Nilufa's eyes were filled with pride and joy. She bought yarn worth only 100 taka from the market. With this yarn, she made five ga majunis, and with the remaining yarn, it is possible to make five more ga majunis.
The most joyful thing is that Nilufa has already sold two ga majunis for 40 taka—20 taka per piece. Nilufa is very happy to be able to sell her creations. She says,
“If I can sell ga majunis by doing this kind of weaving, then I will be able to continue my education expenses myself.”
Nilufa’s dream does not end here. She further says,
“Just as I am able to do something myself by learning from Ankhi, I want to teach others this craft too—so that they too can dream of becoming self-reliant like me.”
Nilufa’s story is not just a story of making a ga majuni. It is a story of confidence, learning, and standing on one’s own feet. With the help of a community like Padma Group and supportive people like Ankhi, the dreams of many girls like Nilufa are slowly becoming a reality.
