They took a bold decision without hurting anyone.

A salt activity was conducted with a self-help group in Nandwal. After that, the women also took an action. Before taking salt, they all used to never leave their homes, but after taking salt, they realized their strength and went to a resort for a day trip. The women in this group are always ready to do some new activity. Four days ago, the husband of a woman in that group passed away. According to the old tradition, after the husband dies, all the ornaments on the woman's body are removed, but today four-five women in that group took the initiative and told the people of that house that the ornaments on the woman's body should not be removed. Accordingly, the people of the house agreed and did not remove the ornaments on her body. This is the first incident in Nandwal of abandoning tradition and adapting to new ideas.
myself (Jayashree) asked the women concerned, how did you discuss this and explain this to the old-fashioned elders? How did you get this courage? To this, that women said, "jayshri you, repeatedly informing us about our inside strengths, you have given us the belief that we have this power and that we too can do something. That is why we were able to do this."
These women took this courageous decision inspired by the incident where Savitribai Phule's birth anniversary was celebrated by widowed women in a Marathi school last year, and thus a widowed woman has found support in her grief.
