During the entire discussion, Sameer drew attention to the issue of young men's marriages. According to him, the main reason behind delayed or failed marriages of young men today is the unrealistic expectations of girls' parents. They want a big house, farmland, wealth, and a government job — and because of such high demands, marriages are not happening. As a result, love affairs, elopements, and even extra-marital relationships are increasing. He emphasized that even parents need to be more understanding, and both sides should try to understand each other.
He also shared thoughts about the boys, saying that today’s youth are obsessed with expensive phones and vehicles, and girls too prefer such boys. But girls must also reflect on what kind of partner they truly want. When decisions that should be made at the right age are delayed, it leads to many difficulties later in life.
He strongly pointed out that parents are partly responsible for the lavish lifestyle of their sons. Some parents go as far as selling their farmland to buy phones worth ₹35,000 to ₹1,00,000 for their children. The same boys later throw tantrums for more things they desire. According to Sameer, instead of spending so much on luxury items, these youths should use that money to start a small business. "If I had been given that kind of money," he said, "I would have bought a buffalo and generated income from it. That would have improved our situation."
He feels many youths are chasing luxury while parents unknowingly enable it. Sameer then spoke emotionally about his own dream: “I want to keep my mother happy. Today, I see other people’s mothers sitting happily on their terrace, and I dream of building a terrace for my home too. I want to see my mother sitting there proudly. I’m ready to work as hard as needed for that. Rather than chasing luxury, I want to see happiness on my mother’s face — that is my dream.”
Sameer's words were truly heartfelt, and he even got emotional while speaking. From what he said, I learned how one should hold on to their dreams with determination.
