Training on CLCPC_ A Step towards Sustainability & Ownership

Hi,  I’m Rati Lama, a SALT facilitator of Rural Aid organization, Kalchini Block, Alipurduar District, would like to share once again about the Training on CLCP (Community Life Competence Process) cycle to the SHGs (Self Help Groups) and parents of adolescent children of Kalchini Tea gardens with support of my team members Dheeraj, Sanjay and Nityam.

As we had already started working on community sustainability and ownership in our tea gardens through CLCPC SALTs approach and Community dream building. While to strengthen the communities on sustainability and ownership, we have decided and organized the Training on CLCPC cycle process and review of Community dream building  to SHGs members and parents of adolescent children of Gangutia tea garden and Raimatang tea garden because we believed that from the SGHs and parents who are the core and importance backbone of each community can help us to lead the others community towards sustainability & ownership. 

During the training, we have oriented the participation of SHGs members and parents on the process of CLCP SALTs with the objective of how we can build ourselves into sustainability and ownership and review their dream buildings with many examples. 

We have also highlighted the previous work action led by communities for the  dream building such as stopped gambling at ICDS centre by group of parents, enrolled the vulnerable children in school, supported to young youth who works among the physically challenged community for providing certificates etc.

As reflection; * The participating SHGs members and parents have understood the CLCP process and their dreams which was indicated from the many participation as stated- “ We have to work together as Unity to fulfil our dream through the process”. *The participants have also said that they will invite the other SGHs members for the next meeting and engage them line by line (different rows of tea garden) so that they can sensitize on CLCP process and ownership.
